I've seen this archetype in many Something Awful users. I've also seen it in users on other websites, but it seems particularly prevalent on Something Awful in particular. The key thought process of this archetype is "because some are, all are," and you've probably read posts like these, too.
"Because some women reject me, all women reject me." "Because some boomers have hurt the economy, all boomers hurt the economy." "Because some men make fun of me, all men make fun of me." They then use this line of thinking to say something absolutely abhorrent, if not just insanely stupid. What's worst of all is that I'll seldom see people condemn these lunatics, with a few even applauding them with varying levels of genuineness. Perhaps that's why this idiotic mindset is so prevalent among Something Awful. Nuances or gradation doesn't exist, you're either part of a universally identical category, or you're not.

It's rigid thinking characteristic of authoritarian mindsets. This has wrongly been identified with the right because post-WW2 the obsession was with pathologising things that could lead to 'Nazism', but it's quite common on both sides of politics, as Something Awful illustrates.

It’s a way of cultivating an us-vs-them mentality, which humans are perilously susceptible to because human history is defined mostly by war and genocide and we‘re all descended from the “us” who mass-murdered and mass-raped “them.”
It is extremely easy to control people who think one-dimensionally, and it is just as easy to get people to start thinking that way. Give people an excuse to hate* other people and you can get them to do literally anything, including killing themselves and others. It’s a very useful human trait to take advantage of if you’re trying to create a mob, or a sect, or a movement, or an army.
*I’ve noticed that a large proportion of leftists and affiliated types who claim to be fighting hate do not actually know what hate is. Hate is not a hand gesture. Hate is not a symbol. Hate is not a piece of headwear. Hate is not a race, or a gender, or an identity. Hate is an attitude and if you’re trying to destroy hate by destroying people who wear a particular hat, then your own hate is fucking with your perceptions and you probably need to wake the fuck up before you end up murdering somebody.

Well, yeah, that's why it's considered a mental illness. It's not a logical thing to think, it's an unwanted thought, but it's there and all of a sudden it floods your brain. And then because you had the thought, the sufferer thinks it must mean something, like you're secretly this horrible monster - because why else would you think it? And commence spiral.
Comedian Maria Bamford explains it well, but the poster also does, I think. It certainly stood out among all the other posts from people suggesting suicide as a response to everything - this was someone trying to help, based on their own experience with mental illness.
It's good that you showed how it's such a pattern with these people, because most of those without context you couldn't tell if it was just hyperbole, kidding, kidding on the square, an honest reaction, or bait. But as you see them say it more and more often, the truth drops off from those earlier options and starts being definitely one of the last two.
Places like SA know how to take my natural inclination towards sympathy for those who are depressed and struggling and push it towards wanting these constant moaners and downers to just fuck off and do it already. Depressed people who aren't narcissists often worry about how being honest about their feelings negatively impacts the people around them; unsurprisingly, few of the remaining goons seem to have that concern.
