That assumes that Bernie actually cares about his supporters. I don't think he does. If he did, he'd a) actually fight Joe Biden, rather than preface every half-hearted jab with "Joe's a good friend of mine" or b) drop out rather than string them along. Bernie is not really "in" this fight because he's not really into it, period. What would he have to gain? Being President is nice, of course, but you have to have congressional support to get anything done. That's not going to happen. Also, being in power isn't like being in opposition: you actually have to craft policy and take responsibility for governance rather than just whine about your opponents. That's why some politicians - particularly of the more "radical" strain - really don't want power. Then you become the "man," so to speak, and you don't quite have the edge you once had. Being President and having to govern within the realities of, well, reality would inevitably require him to compromise in big ways that he really doesn't want to do. On top of that, being President is incredibly stressful: the office ages you. Having had a heart attack on the campaign trail, what do you think will happen to him if he were ever President? He's not guaranteed to finish his term, and could thus not enjoy a fourth house. Is it possible that Sanders is putting up an act to justify the millions his supporters, like ShoeonHead, had donated?
No, he really doesn't care for June and his other followers. He just wants their money.
