I'm on my third excessively blingy cruiser with an adequately blingy pod, I would put it's dollar value at about $50-100 and it's the most fun ship I've ever used. I'm nowhere close to killing enough ships to match its value but there's nothing in any game that matches the absolute rush of emotion and feelings when I get into a fight with it.

most are ex-goons.

There's a fuckton of goon refugee camps that have popped up in other places. Like here for example, the Lowtax and SA thread here populated by many former goons. Head to other boards or communities it's a similar situation. Re-released Vanilla WoW's troon guild drove many members to seek out other places and those goons got in contact from the goon groups that play and run private servers.

I wish I had screenshotted this when I saw it earlier. There were a single digit number of likes to 250ish dislikes, and about a hundred comments, the top one outright saying that this is a scam, and Sarkeesian is a scam artist.

There's also an Instagram account currently sitting at 10 following and 17 followers, but I don't have an account so I'm walled off. Can someone else screenshot those please?

They have as much in common with SA as we do- some of us used to post there. You can still join the Goon corp, but Goonswarm Federation is mostly random players. Leadership has some SA goons but generally they're not a SA related group.

You bring up an excellent point. I had another little poke at the site and it has this one line, in their "About" page:

The Games and Online Harassment Hotline is a free, text message-based, confidential emotional support hotline.

That is the sole implication anywhere on the site that the Hotline will keep users' information secret, and "confidential" as expressed here can be interpreted in multiple ways. There do not appear to be any actual terms of service nor anything else that would protect users of the Hotline from having all of their personal information monetized and/or spread across the internet.

There's an old adage that "if the service is free, it's because you're the product." But I'm sure the Hotline only sells $15 pairs of socks.
