All the odds were in favor of getting a good judge. Right of center, Texas etc. But there's always one and unfortunately, this case landed in his courtroom. Sometimes the fates are unkind.

To quote Tim Pool's maxim..."It's complicated." First, I 'want' Vic and his fabulous pants to win on all counts. Which would be SOME degree of justice. With that said however...

"Justice" to me is Vic coming out of this fiasco with more fans than ever, actual friends he now KNOWS are his friends, and a 'career' that keeps making him money and doing what he loves.

The REST of "Justice" is his false accusers stuck with the legal bill, rendered unhirable by any name company and being relegated to begging for scraps in some back corner of failing conventions who in turn, screw them for appearance fees. 'Justice' is them watching their clout chasing fanbase abandoning them once they realize that the party is over and these 'con' artists are of no further value to the almighty cause of intersectionalism and Orange Man Bad leftism.

"Justice" may be blind but it would bear a striking resemblance to the average Kick Vic'er... AKA his accusers being alone, abandoned, broke, smelling like cat piss and raging impotently at the sky because your best effort to cancel a man into suicide made him more loved than he ever was. Thats what real justice looks like to me.

Justice in my opinion would simply be Vic winning. I think he's already gotten more fans than he had before, myself included. I mean I used to kinda despise the guy before all this for various reasons unrelated to the "rumors", which for the record I had never heard of until the new Broly movie came out. I've actually noticed that a lot the Vic fans I used to hate are now KickVic anyways.

Now that I think of it this would be a great time to list actual grievances with Vic, some of which I have mentioned before. To me "justice" is setting things as close to "right" as possible. The court case is unfortunately at best a tool to get that.

Funimations and Rooster Teeth could do the most by giving him his roles back, explaining that they were lied to and are working to improve their HR standards.

Of course that isn't going to happen. The companies are going to just ignore this unless there is a huge PR backlash.

As for the defendants? Rial and Marchi are both outed as liars already. They are on the way out of the industry. Ron is having a mental breakdown. At this point can we punish them more? I suppose yes but it would be more violent than anything.

Courts can only do so much. The rest will be up to the fans to support him.

We'll have to respectfully agree to disagree on that. I think his voice acting is passable but he's definitely no Steve Blum by any stretch of the imagination. Personally I felt his Edward left a lot to be desired, but that's just me. I get kinda tired of the standard protagonist voice and it takes a really good story and character to distract me from it. Probably doesn't help that I never cared much for Full Metal Alchemist despite having seen the entire original anime and most of Brotherhood. Let be clear. I'm not saying he's a bad voice actor, I'm just saying that I personally don't care for his performance in most things.

I know this is probably a very unpopular opinion and you can feel free to hold it against me but on some level I can completely understand why Monica is doing this. I'm not trying to justifying what she's done to Vic by any means and I'm certainly not defending her in any capacity. However I think it's important to help everyone understand why she has done this. See, Monica has a lot more voice acting talent than a lot of people give her credit for. The problem is that she's often type cast into roles which is something she has been complaining about since I was in high school. I'd say, and again this is just my opinion, that she's probably a bit better than Vic as far as voice acting goes. That is to say that I believe that she is primarily upset because she feels she should be as popular if not more and just as successful as Vic. I feel for her in a way I really do. She deserved better in my opinion, but when she didn't get what she thought was supposed to be hers she got jealous and tried to ruin an innocent man's career which is inexcusable as far as I'm concerned.

Jamie on the other hand has always struck me as a talentless airhead with a few decent voices. She is in many respects the exact sort of person you'd expect someone with that voice to be.

Turns out it was like a 12+ year old obscure European copy that had his name on it. She was still pissed about that even to this day.

I don't think that Monica believes it will help her career. At this point it's about revenge and convincing herself that her actions are somehow justified. That's the thing about being human, sometimes we do things for no other reason than to satisfy some irrational emotion even knowing that doing so will be detrimental to our own goals. She has absolutely nothing to gain and yet now she's too far into the trench to get back out. For Monica it's an issue of pride which is often the most dangerous of emotions and the hardest to overcome.

I know the trial court has supplemented the record twice already. It's a somewhat surprising oversight. I'm not sure how that would actually happen. It's not going to make any difference, whoever is to blame.

It's a request in the trial court, not the CoA, and I'm pretty sure it's the clerk's duty to file everything anyway, so it would be pretty weird for that to happen.

On the notice, no need to mention any document other than the order being appealed, which they didn't.

As for their supplement request in December, no, they weren't listed. Only the new documents that had been filed in the trial court after the clerk filed the other stuff with the CoA half a month earlier. Now that it's been brought up, though, I wonder if BHBC had an opportunity by that point to notice the missing petitions.

Sad thing is, chupp's insane decision to dismiss everything made these people think their behavior was justified and made them act even more hostile towards Vic. I'm afraid that, if the appeals get dismissed, their behavior will get even worse. Then they'll probably never leave Vic alone and will make up more outrageous lies about him.

What it will do is give cons that are neutral or on the fence a justification to at least give Vic a chance, which will be compounded by people like Manjaw (who, again, is a diagnosed lunatic) harassing any con he's listed at.

It's a holy war to them at this point. If he's not guilty they lose a key part of their identity as "good people" who are "activists" who "believe women." They will do anything to keep ahold of that part of themselves. Anything.

If this gets back from appeals, expect them to get even more insane. Crazy shit like posting up flyers in his neighborhood talking about how he's "a rapist and child molester" and that the local populous should beware and demand the police "do something." Look at Antifa and their antics against people like Jordan Peterson or Tucker Carlson for examples of where this will go, if given half a chance. Same mindset, same delusions, same drive to retain their false identity as activists for good.

If he wins outright -- Funimation will settle the SECOND it's pushed back, that won't trigger this as they'll be able to lie to themselves about why they settled -- I half expect one of the Tumblr goblins to try assaulting him at a con or something. It would also set the precedent that there is no defamation and TI in Texas.
Calling someone a pedophile, and rapist, while claiming there were legal investigations, would be fine going forward.

Can we punish them any more? I'd argue that aside from having a good ol' time with this entire shitshow, we haven't done any punishing. The people punishing Jaime and Monica specifically are the people waiting hours in lines at "no name Funko Pop shops", hotels, dojos, and pizza shops to simply get an autograph with the man. The people punishing Jamie and Monica are the people not showing up to give them similar--if not better--lines than alleged sexual predator Vic Mignogna. The people punishing Jaime and Monica are the people screaming at the top of their lungs that they're victims,. yet won't fork over money to go to conventions they're at despite being part of a Twitter mob trying to get them more appearances. The people punishing Jaime and Monica are the people not purchasing FUNimation subscriptions or dubs, because that shows the suits that they aren't worth the money to hire in the future, and that impacts their bottom line.

Aside from the courts giving us a case to go forward with--which is a strong likelihood at this point--there has been enough damage done to Jaime and monica at this point to make them wonder what's going to happen after it all settles down. Jaime's the only one whose fees are taken care of, but Monica and Ron, if nothing changes, are out $180,000. They can't sue FUNimation for that. Monica's new venture, Interspecies Reviewers--a show she was the a leading character in--was unceremoniously yanked after one episode (though she likely recorded for and was paid for three) so there's no money coming from there. Her convention invites are low right now and possibly won't be picking up because she doesn't bring in money for conventions, the same as Jaime (Jaime actually complained about this in November, I believe, that she had less than half the number of invites compared to the same time the year prior). neither one is going to move on from voice acting to actual acting--Jaime could have done it five years ago, but Monica couldn't. Both are ugly, fat harpies, and people don't want to see that.

The real punishment, though, would be seeing Vic carry on and succeed. Sure, they could always scream that TCPA threw out Vic's case, but even as that happens he's getting more and more convention invites. Convention owners are seeing the numbers he's pulling in and they're weighing the options: bring in Vic, make money even though a bunch of fat, screeching harpies who weren't even coming to your convention will try to astroturf your convention, or don't bring him in in which case you don't make money because those harpies weren't coming anyways. The real punishment would be seeing Vic keep his house and builing up his own recording studio and recording business, watching him continue to make money while they wallow in misery, and Ron and Monica ten years from now are still "engaged".

Those would be the real punishments for the defendants.
