he hit his leg in a car door and left a bad mark, didn't have it treated because he didn't have any type of insurance. it got infected, he went to a doctor, it got so bad that he almost died in his sleep, he was saved, he was moved to wound care and a doctor gave him the option of amputation or saving the leg, he saved the leg, it actually worked. he has to keep his legs elevated at least 12 hours a day, and he has to wear compression socks. sometimes he was stubborn and decided not to do this stuff, and his leg went septic again and it somehow got into the other leg. this process would happen once a year where he would do this. his feet got messed up one year, his skin died on one of his legs another year, etc. he probably neglected his legs and now it's looking like that
