It all boils down to the definition of the word "invent". Ditch your worthless white-cis-men dictionaries and (although it is not my job to educate) wake up to the fact that language is a system of signifiers, rife with power discourse, that ultimately derives its meaning through a genderfluid Différance.

Invent, in the Banana Wu context, may mean:

• To create something for the first time (white-cis-men definition; avoid because very triggering to some).
• To perfect something.
• To make something popular.
• To be noticed by Banana Wu for the first time.
• To come up in Banana Wu's mind at the moment of utterance.
  
• To appear in a Banana Wu game.

It doesn't matter who is right because the mansplaining white cis male is always wrong.

Did you know that Brianna Wu and Laurelai (NSFW: Encyclopedia Dramatica) are internet friends (I don't know if they had any contact with each other IRL)? Laurelai twitter handle is @stuxnetsource. Her tweets are only viewable for approved users, but using twitter's search engine I managed to find several interactions between her and Brianna. The first documented interaction between the two was on October last year. Further tweets were exchanged between the two on November, but unfortunately only Brianna's side of conversation is viewable. Brianna was also kind enough to post a screenshot of a Facebook conversation she had with Laurelai, suggesting they're FB friends. Nice to know that a pathological liar and a rapist have joined forces to fight for justice.

OMG, Laurelai was a major nuisance on lots of subreddits for a long time. She basically set the bar on excusing asshole behavior because of transness.

It never fails to amaze me just how frightened these people are of being critical with anyone they believe is a part of their social circle. Wu is blatantly making shit up to get more victim points, they know she is, but they are so afraid of telling her to fuck off for whatever reason. No wonder Wu can get whatever she wants out of them - she's a bully who preys on this sort of wishy-washy, passive crowd.

Give me A-Log if you want but this is one of the most arrogant fucking things that I have ever seen - and considering I'm reading this thread, that's quite an achievement.

I have NEVER heard anyone unironically praise their own work that they share with others - not professionals and not amateurs whom I know IRL. For professionals - well, it's unprofessional. For amateurs, any creative pursuit undoubtedly has some personal investment in it, so self-deprecation is probably socially acceptable, yes, but helps to defend against criticisms that others may have, whether warranted or unwarranted.

Well I don't think there's much harm in thinking "oh hey I do like how this turned out" or "I think I did pretty well with this!" but this is more "EVERYTHING I DO IS GREAT BECAUSE IT'S ME"

And Brianna escapes this conundrum in a magnificent way: she has too big of an ego to care about self-deprecation, too much of a martyr complex to care about avoiding criticism, and too much experience with gaming journalism to care about being professional.
