A Beginner's Guide to Tumblrisms

What is "cissexism" and how does it differ from "transmisogyny"?

Cissexism- Like sexism, except against transgender people, specifically in regards to assuming everyone is cisgender. Often comes up in discussions of reproductive health so somebody can, for example, accuse the late Dr. George Tiller of cissexism because he never mentioned giving a late-term abortion to a transman. Tiller was, of course, assassinated by a pro-life terrorist in his own church. Also comes up when genderspecials refuse to acknowledge their birth sex on medical paperwork.

Transmisogyny- Misogyny specifically against transwomen. Often thrown at transmen for some reason, as a part of a bizarre dividing tactic between the two groups, instead of, say, people who murder transwomen because they had sex with them and flip out because they don't want to be gay.

Meninist(s): An obvious satire of feminism, usually taking the dumb shit sjws say and inverting the gender. Despite the original account
tumblr_njd8b8sbfL1qf9djko2_500.png

being very clear about being a parody, SJWs and most other tumblrinas in their infinite intelligence are somehow fooled into thinking it's an actual thing.

Derailing: An act of taking a post on one subject and twisting it into one of the derailer's choosing. On tumblr, this usually means taking a post that insists all men are rapists/whatever other generalizations and reminding the OP that it's no less true than the idea that black people are instinctively inclined to steal bikes. Naturally, of course, these same people see no problem with actually derailing other peoples' posts. Eg a positivity post for men and esp trans men will usually have a few SJWs telling them off for not "giving women/trans women some love too" ignoring the fact that the latter pair are disturbingly glorified already and the former experience mainly putdowns and harassment.

Fetishization: Being obsessively or irrationally devoted to something, typically people with particular racial traits or cultures. On tumblr, this is a handy excuse to label anyone as racist for not hating people of other races. If he intentionally excludes, say, Japanese women from his dating pool, he's a racist. If he is perfectly open to or interested in dating a Japanese woman, he's a racist because fetishizing. Same goes with fat people, don't want 'em? FAT SHAMING. Do? OMG WE'RE NOT A FETISH. And trans women. Of course, none of them will note the irony of labeling all women as "literal godesses" and generally obsessing over them or people of a certain weight/race/whatever at every moment which is most definitely fetishizing.

Strawman: An sjw favourite. A method of making a false or exaggerated argument that can't actually defend itself thus allowing the super-righteous OP to take them down with no opposition, akin to making an actual strawman to beat up for it cannot and will not fight back. Pretty much every last SJW argument relies on strawmanning (see: Andrew Dobson) since actually trying to justify their hatred is hard! Of course, this is also the defense used by SJWs who are unaware that they basically act like living strawmen or if said criticisms are almost literally lifting quotes directly from them for their argument (see: Plebcomics)

Re: On me adding this to the Wiki, I haven't had much time to do anything this weekend but I have most of tomorrow afternoon free so I'll try and get it done then.

Genderqueer is the specialist of special snowflakes. They're whatever gender they want at whatever time they want and sometimes no gender at all. Maybe they feel like a male, 20 minutes later a female, then they have no gender or both genders or who knows when you're in crazy town.

Genderfluid: When a person does not identify as one gender and constantly fluctuates between feeling male or female. Mostly used by teenage girls that think, because their personality is not all female, when they do something more traditionally masculine they are identifying as male.

Ye (var.: mmmmmmm ye(s), awww yisssss, yiiisssssss): a pretty moronic noise and tag 70% of tumblrites shove just about anywhere. Apparently, a tumblrite's way to show happiness. Also, an unspoken "scum" hallmark, along with abusing of pixels/pastels on the blog.

bREATHING iNTENSIFIES (sic!): a longer form of "feels". Hard to say which one is more stupid.

Cuddle
: Likely used by closet pedos/rapists in disguise, regardless of age; sounds innocent but and actually means "drunken orgy".

I knew a girl that did this. Always used the terms "Boymode" or "Girlmode" depending on how she was feeling at that particular moment. Could never quite grasp that nobody is really 100% masculine or feminine, or in the same exact mood all the time, so she used the special genderqueer snowflake thing to set herself apart and really drive home her uniqueness. She was actually just your average slightly tomboyish straight girl.

I can also see complaining about shit like "appropriations" that basically make a mockery of the culture they're borrowing
"Plastic shamans" pissed off people in the Lakota tribe so much that they issued a "Declaration of War Against Exploiters of Lakota Spirituality" awhile back.

However, I think a good example of cultural exchange would be learning and drawing in manga style for entertainment and fun. I believe I said earlier that people in Japan adapted the style from Disney cartoons and Betty Boop at least, and they primarily use it for entertainment and fun also.

That being said, white "allies" tend to make a show out of dogpiling on some girl wearing a war bonnet who doesn't know any better
There was this one Victoria's Secret fashion show where the girl wore a Native American inspired underwear, complete with a war bonnet. One person angrily claimed that said underwear inspired sexual violence against Native American women, and that every single Native American woman disliked the underwear. Is there any truth to these claims? I'm guessing... not really (except maybe the objection to the war bonnet part).

I imagine Natives were probably not happy with it but that one person's claims are some pretty astounding leaps of logic. It is true that Native women experience domestic violence at a rate higher than pretty much every other ethnic group in the states, but I fail to see how that has anything to do with a tasteless underwear model photo shoot.

I'm seriously alarmed that there are so many new words that Tumblrinas are using! I hope these words won't end up in a dictionary one day.

Is that what "otherkin" used to mean, pre-tumblr?

People were "catkin" because they identified with cats, not because they thought they actually were cats.

Well people who identify as earthly animals are actually known as therians, at least outside of Tumblr. So they would be a cat therian in that case. Otherkin was its own separate thing for like elves, dragons, w/e - mythical shit. All in all though these people generally realize they're actually human, but just identify as something on a psychological and/or spiritual level. Nobody is really nuts enough to think they are literally a cat or whatever - that's clinical lycanthropy and everyone says to go to a damn doctor if that is the case. They tend to live pretty successful lives too, because after all they realize they're a human who still needs to do human shit. Basically, they don't let it affect them in a negative way and largely keep it personal as it is a personal thing.

Of course Tumblr throws all that shit out the window, bastardizes the term, and uses it as another shiny badge to shove in everyone's face. :v

wait you mean they're not talking in an Elizabethan dialect.

@Hodor, seems like it - if you mean ye olde and ye that's =you in pirate dialect. :] These kinds of "ye" are just in place and spice up the text just right. Unlike the tumblr lingo, which feels like you're offered a bowl of misc spices alone.
