I'm old enough to remember when they suggested that Rock, Metal and alternative music was the devil and would push teens towards suicide and drugs. But then you stop and realize that many artists actually do deal with depression and drug addiction, proving them right.

Chris Cornell - Hanged himself.
The dude from Linkin Park - Hanged as well.
Just to name a few. I mean, look at this fucker.
Why wouldn't they say "look at these rëtards, you wanna end up like these bums?" makes total sense.
Manson, for all his faults, hasn't hanged himself or anything like that, I guess he's too sane and well-adjusted for that sort of thing - and
there's no room for wimps in Metal, it's too loud and fast for them I guess. But when it comes down to it, the "sex, drugs and rock 'n roll" meme was started by degenerates with nothing to offer but to live in a constant state of hedonism, in the hopes that running away from their problems was the solution.
