Okay, time for a new comic page! A little bit of a backstory - in another thread in the Sonichu subforum, people were asking how to make Sonichu even worse. One that had come up was to have Rob Liefeld draw the thing. While I not a legend of Rob, I will admit that I grew up reading his comics (I still fucking love classic X-Force - Shatterstar is a goddamn badass) and although I can see his sense of anything is... stilted... I felt it necessary to send ol' Rob a tip of the fedora. So I hope you all enjoy- and Rob- this is all your fault.

Wow. You and Trickie have me running to the CWCki with every post. There is a lot of stuff that Chris did that I had not imagined. You have so much to work with. It must be hilarious fun. One thing: is "Wheels" Mary Rosechu? She only has one ear. I'm going to chalk that up as "Chris was way too assed to draw a second ear"?

I figure she would get her eye replaced with the Sonichu-equivalent of a glass eye. However it probably hasn't been replaced for a while, hence why she keeps it hidden. I might show it one day, just dunno where yet.

Thanks for the compliment! And actually no, the "Son I am disappoint" guy isn't there. However, DMX, Hulk Hogan, Briannu Wu, Phil Fish, and some dude wearing official branded Steel Plated Heart apparel are in attendance. Because this is what they all do- they just hang out outside of elementary schools in case a riot breaks out.

Probably... but we're not even close to wrapping up just yet. Maybe I'll make a cover for "The first 100 pages" and keep that going. I dunno.

I know that feels. I wake up every morning, staring at the ceiling and think to myself, "Why bother? Trickie has all the Awesomes." Then she pulls up outside in her Jaguar, throws a brick through my window and laughs before peeling off. I just sigh, order a new window (they know me by name now) and proceed to clean up the glass shards. Every. day.

Okay, seriously though....

I just want to give everyone who has been making all of this awesome stuff a massive THANK YOU. Seriously, it just really makes me smile that people are actually caring about this beast to go out of their way to do this. Chris may not appreicate it, but I think you're all great and I only hope to continue to entertain y'all.

Till this page, I didn't even realize Mitch was actually with the good-ish guys. Holy fuck! Love the Liefeldchus, though. Those pouches, dem shoulder pads, bulging cheekbones! Great job at capturing his... um, unique style while still making the drawing look good.

THE POUCHES. My sides... the pouches!
Please don't draw any feet next.

Hey Blank! I just wanted to say thanks to you and Trickie for putting the time and effort into "The Real Sonichu" and "Rosechu's Story" . congratulations to the both of you for taking what was shit source material and turning it into gold.

Hey all.
I won't be having another comic page ready to go until maybe Saturday. I've been away from home the last few days and tonight's my last night of freedom before I have to make the long drive back to work and I'd prefer not to spend it drawing cartoons. But once I get situated and back to my drawing board, I'll begin work on the latest pages and hopefully be back on a more normal schedule.

And now, the mailbag!

"I shoot rockets!" needs to become random.txt.
When I start up my RedBubble account to sell TRS merch, I'll make sure to have this one of the T-Shirts.

EDIT: By the way, that jaguar I drive around isn't a car, it's a literal jaguar.
Bullshit it's literal. A literal jaguar doesn't shoot lasers and speak in the dulcet tones of Sam Elliott.

...makes you wonder how fucked up Bride Rosechu was.
I actually had her and Moe on a page a while back. She'll be back before too long...

Yeah, I goofed up on the ear. Even researched beforehand too. So I'll make sure to add an explanation about it. And yeah, the trick I have with writing the comedy points is that I don't try to add in anything unless I think it's legitimately funny. That isn't to say I think I'm some comedy master, but I abhor copying other people's jokes. Seems to work out okay mostly.

Waaaay back when I was in junior high, I will admit that Rob Liefeld was one of my first drawing inspirations, as sad as that is to say. So the real trick with Brit-tay was pretty much putting myself in the mindset of "Okay, would would a 14-year-old me draw this?"

And Mitch and the Basement Rosechus are going to be an interesting set. Magi-Chan and Spunky have kind of formed a bizarre cadre of the also-ran characters like Darkbind and Reginald that appeared seemingly as just story-filler. To put it in another way, if the Chaotic Combo were the X-men, Magi-Chan and Co. would be the Morlocks.

Am I the only one who thinks Brit-Tay looks like a furry version of Kallen Kozuki from Code Geass?
I actually never watched Code Geass except for maybe an episode or two so I did a Google search for her... I think Brit-Tay might be allergic to all that clothing.

I'll make sure to have her feet constantly being blocked by random large rocks or plume of smoke or something. And if I ever do draw her feet, it will look like a random flipper.

Thanks- I appreciate the compliments! I also appreciate any comments or questions asked because that always helps me keep things interesting and also keeps me on the rails.

So, e'rryone have a good day- new pages coming along in a few!

Don't sweat it, we all have out missteps in taste sometimes. I remember when I was an extremely tubular '90s kid thinking that Spawn was the best comic there is and obsessing over Clone Saga. Luckily, the decade also had its gems like The Maxx, Moore's Supreme or Kelly's Deadpool.

Fuuuuuuu...

Okay, so the last couple of days have been kicking me in the face. Yesterday I had a six-hour drive and them immediately had to go to work for another three hours fixing problems people should have done on their own three days ago. Today spent the majority playing phone-tag with people who don't know how to do their jobs all the while playing catchup on my own stuff.

I got the pencil roughs done, but starting to feel flaky, which is not a good thing to feel when inking. I'll wrap this up on Monday probably (tomorrow I have to finish writing my prose for the writing contest).

As for now, I need to pass out, wake up, then play some violent vidya to get everything right.

This trip into Liefeld-land is taking me back. I used to have an issue #1 Brigade, which is really the only thing I ever read with his art in it, but I always thought his art was interesting. Not interesting enough to want more of it, but interesting.

By the way, did you do panel 2 freehand? Because I really like the perspective effects there.

THE COLORS, DUKE! THE COLORS!!!

Oh God, the weird flat Liefeld guns are making an appearance too? Bravo, maestro
I also made sure to throw is horrible perspective in panel 1, and the Liefield Grimace-of-Many-Teeth for good measure. I know, I know... you're welcome.

I actually did. Happy accident, or maybe it was just my brain trying to save itself from the (intentional) horribleness of the rest of the page. Any case, thank you.

"...How are you doing that?"

I love how this feels like a loving tribute to Liefeld's work, while at the same time critiquing all of its shortcomings.

Bravo, _blank_, bravo.
Y'know, it's like this: Liefeld isn't the greatest of artists. Obviously. But the fact is I grew up reading his stuff, same way I grew up listening to the Ninja Turtles' "Coming Out Our Shells" album or obsessively buying Battle Beasts. They're completely ridiculous, stupid things from my childhood, but I'm not going to deny the fact that once upon a time I really enjoyed them. Not so much nowadays, but they're still part of my life.

I will, however still state to this day that Ninja Rap is one of the greatest songs of the 90s and we should be thankful for Vanilla Ice for enriching our lives with its very existence.

A BIG SPLASH OF COLOUR, JUST FOR ME! (well not really just for me but you know)

Also I didn't even notice this in the last panel of the sketch (probably because I was too focused on the disproportionate elongated stomach) but holy shit does that Rosechu in the last panel have three breasts?

...Wait, why am I looking at a Rosechu's breasts?! AUGH! GODBEAR, WHY?!

Yeah, I've definitely been there before with countless other things as a kid, so I totally know what you mean there.

On a sidenote, I thought those Jerkops in the second panel were actually those crazy Anchuent Sonichu armoured "Cherokees" in the sketch, but thankfully it's obviously much more clear in the final coloured version. Still, that did make me wonder if more of those guys are ever gonna show up...

EDIT: Actually, looking back at the sketch, it's pretty obvious that they were Jerkops even then, so maybe I'm just dumb or I wasn't paying enough attention, I dunno.

Nah, the one on the side is her right knee.
