Comicsgate Hangers-On and Drama Whores - A thread about some guy who's mad about Star Wars and the neckbeards obsessively stalking him

No official obligation of course but people still do tend to kiss asses and ignore autism of every e-movement especially when it's anti-sjw.
Only up to the point that it suits their own biases, left, right, or center, to do so. Barring the true believers, the scales eventually fall from most peoples' eyes after a certain amount of bullshit has gone down.

Only up to the point that it suits their own...
Agree. Which is what I'm asking: did it happen?

Eh from what I've seen most posters here thought this was going to turn into another Gamergate shitshow.
Not at all. Go further back enough in the official comicsgate thread and you'll see people defend the same clown behavior and Twitter fights they're now against.

Wenger, ever oblivious to his own contradictions, posted to Twitter his thanks to his CG brothers and sisters for replacing the “Marxism” of mainstream comics with a movement based on “loyalty and meritocracy.” There is little place for loyalty in a meritocracy. All one has to do is look at how this “movement” has treated Jeff’s failure versus Doug’s success to see which concept dominates those who chose to gather under the CG umbrella.

The last week say witness to the growing disparity between those who operate within the #Comicsgate community and those who chose to criticize it. Doug Tenapel posted a video of himself overseeing the printing of his book and signing autographs. Meanwhile, Jeff of World Class Bullshiters, posted an apology video for the sorry state in which is comic arrived.

Doug Tenapel remains a popular target of those close to Ethan, being knocked out by Sweetcast in the latest WC approved meme. Whereas, the CG critics posted memes poking fun at Jeff for his failure to delver on his promise of a comic which exceeded industry standards. Jeff’s video claimed that he did not know at the postage and address were going to be printed directly on the comic itself which was subsequently placed in the mail. That begs the question of why the back cover was blank. For that matter, where was the promised ashcan which was part of the $50k stretch goal.

As has been said many times from those within, Comicsgate is about loyalty. You can see it in the WC livesteam where Micah Curtis has his loyalty tested by Ro demanding he call Marvel Comics writer Heather Antos a “cum dumpster” in recognition of their friend, Richard C Meyer.

As for merit, the comic creators who consistently deliver the product they promised in the time frame they promised are almost without exception the ones critical of #Comicsgate: Myself, Tim Lin, Doug Tenapel, and George Alexopoulous. Each of us serving as a regular target for War Campaign for daring to speak the truth; #Comicsgate has little concern for merit at all.

Sweetcast may be able to break the #Comicsgate pattern by delivering a well written book, with good art, on time, without engaging in the dog pile tactics of those within #Comicsgate who seek to tear down the ones who show them up. Hence why he was featured prominently in the latest video meme; previously, War Campaign has not had kind things to say regarding Mr. Stoker.

The mods initially made this thread themselves back in August as a quarantine for those who were deemed to be stirring shit up in the main Comicsgate thread. They probably chose my post as the OP because they thought it was funny and/or appropriate considering what I said and who I said it about in that post. This thread has grown to 56 pages in the months since then. Does that spell things out for you?

Dude they barely ever mention you in their podcasts. Even Comic book hut is more relevant than you are and he doesn't even create comics. As for Jeff, I see him as a grifter that needs to stay out of comics and go back to critisizing star wars.

How is Jeff a grifter?

Because he used anti SJW outrage over the Last Jedi to sell his comic. He made his customers wait like 9 or 18 (cant remember which) months before they got their product. He cut a lot corners in terms of cost by doing the art himself (which looks like it was traced and uses the same angles over and over again) and probably did the lettering himself as well. He didn’t even bother to check the pdf file to correct the kernel spaces between the letters and and at one point the words actually overflowed out the caption box onto the unused page space. His book went out just bare bones without a mailer or even a comic book bag with a backboard to protect it. The shipping label was put on the back of the comic which featured no artwork, just a white blank space.
He ignored his customers requests for refunds after they told him how damaged their books were when they got them. Jeff blamed all of these problems on the printer and fulfillment center instead of being involved in every step of the process like Doug Tenaple did.

Basically, he struck while the iron was hot and did a cash grab while delivering and inferior product compared to what the rest of the CG creators are putting out. You figure with him being friends with Ethan that he would have asked him for advice on what to do right and learn what not to do by looking at the mistakes of others.

Grifters gonna grift. You'll see that in any movement. Some are more obvious than others. but it always end in hustling for money.

The only reason why the weebwars didn't have any grifters that want to make "their own anime, with blackjack and hookers" is because producing an anime is expensive and hard. doesn't stop people trying to make kiwifarms their own personal army though

I’ve been following this and I find it odd that EVS is so quiet about it. Isn’t Jeff one of your bestes friends?

Jeff is EVS’s friend. I don‘t know Jeff except for his World Class Bullshitters channel. But yeah, it‘s got to be pretty embarrassing for Ethan or anyone on his side of the comic book wars to be associated with that debacle.

Yeah, I love Jeff! I don't know what to say about it...he seemed confident in his plan to produce and fulfill the book, and frankly ComicsGate has dozens of creators doing the same thing. Jeff went to a printer who probably produces and ships advertising magazines, and they treated his comic book like one.

I checked in with him a couple of times to make sure he was okay with the process, and he assured me he was fine and had it handled. So I let him be.

It's extremely embarrassing for him and definitely his backers are upset. He's going to have to find a solution.

I've talked about it three times on various streams, and on my own livestream tonight. So I don't know why people are saying I'm being quiet about it. It's awful. I feel for him and every one of his disappointed backers.

You said he can draw like Quesada. That terrible comic looks like the doodling of a 5 year old. You lied and helped Jeff Hicks scam people out of $52,074.

To be fair, those people saw what the art was going to look like before they plunked down the cash to get the book and it was pretty obvious that Jeff is no Joe Quesada.

Fact! - EVS lied about the doodlings looking like Joe Quesada art.

Fact! - The doodlings looked like it was done by a 5 year old.

Fact! - EVS helped Hicks scam people out of $52,074!

So lets say that you were going to buy the book that EVS told you to buy because the guy's art looked like Quesada's and you see that it looks like the guy used a crayola light box to trace it, along with a shit colorist. But you still fuck around and buy it. Who is to blame for that?

The book looks like total shit art wise the lettering looked like it was done in MS Paint. The book was supposed to be signed but wasn't. So yeah 52k raised for what? The printer is to falt for 10% of the problem maybe but the rest is on the Jeff and his laziness.
