Crumb, Dave Sim, et al have proven for decades that it is completely possible to be successful by independently making and selling the comic books you want to make rather than the comic books that are dictated by the big two

In followup to last weeks discussion of George Alexopoulos v. Peter Simedi printing, a user of Mr. Alexopoulos’ print service was pleased and posted a video of the quality of his at home print operation.

Last week proved a relatively quiet week for #Comicsgate. In the private notes that were passed to me, there was talk of a Thanksgiving gay op, but that seems to have died down. One possible reason may have been that people who felt they were going to be fingered as a conspirator in the plot Ethan alleges exists against Allegaince Arts took to uploading private videos to YouTube defending themselves in advance which could then be made public upon Ethan’s revelation. One such video was shared with me and I was told that I served as the inspiration to make it.

Doug Tenapel excoriated #Comicsgate as ostensibly conservative movement which succumbed to SJW pressure because of their stance on homosexuality. Ethan responded saying, “See, Doug hates gay people!” Neither of which were particularly interesting.

The eBay data from Cyberfrog showed a continuing downtrend. Taken on average, the price of Cyberfrog has deteriorated to the point where the typical copy sells around $50. When analyzed for the specific titles, we find that the much lauded Salamandroid cover has proven the best investment, with the median value being exactly $100.

The Team-up cover ended up being the worst performing cover of the three. Current sales data suggests a price of $25 or less would be the market clearing price with a strong downward trend pushing it below $20 within the next few weeks. Given that the amount of Team-up covers in private hands only represent the 470 currently fulfilled out of the total of 2123 which will be available after shipping, the Team-up cover senses destined to test a $10 low over the next few weeks.

When viewed purely in economic terms, Ethan absorbed the vast majority of the demand for Cyberfrog: Bloodhoney and fulfilled it directly. The secondary market for what these titles will trade at will suffer sharply over the next few months. Its long terms prospects remain to be seen, but Mr. Van Sciver could find Cyberfrog headed for the dollar bin soon.

I only remember Mark Waid demanding GamerGaters not be invited to conventions, and suggested other pros boycott conventions that creators sympathetic to GamerGate attended. That was when I was working for DC, and before Diversity & Comics was around.

But I don't play video games and wasn't paying attention.

I guess the main difference between ComicsGate and GamerGate is that Comics aren't a healthy industry. It's a dying beast, a dinosaur in it's last throes. Video games are bigger than Hollywood. It's impossible to stand against it, to make a difference. It was bound to fail.

But as the Comics Direct Market collapses, and the industry scrambles to find it's footing, indies can make a stand and claim some ground.

In the process, we can shame SJW Cancel Culture and shine some light on it. Making entertaining videos about SJWs wherever they are is going to get some attention and create some momentum.

Will it last forever? Of course not. It's just energy. It's just about this moment in time. Things will change. From there, it's all about talent and good comics, hopefully with a new spirit.

CYBERFROG will continue as long as I want to do it. As long as I have a platform I'll keep promoting other creators that I like, that are doing great books that people should see. I don't know how long I'll have that platform, but until I no longer do, I'm really enjoying it all.

So you're telling me that after I publicly stated that CYBERFROG chromium leftovers were going to go on sale soon for $50 a piece (twice the normal price) that they're STILL selling for $50 each on eBay? That sounds about right.

Salamandroid is interesting though. I've got a limited number of those remaining, and I was going to sell them for $50 too. Maybe $100 is the right price, according to the demand you're pointing out. Really good news on both fronts.

And here you ramble on again about money you have made. You made out well. But your backers....they did not make out so well. And unlike the little campaigns that only made a few hundred or a few thousand...you have NO EXCUSES! You made on average over $50 per floppy. The more you keep reselling the same comic, the higher the number becomes. What are you, up to to $60 or $65 per floppy?

What that means is you had more money, more ability to full fill the campaign than the guy who makes a tiny bit of money.

All it took for you to full fill the campaign in a way that gave backers what you promised was:

1. Get old fat ass out of bad and work on the comic. FAIL! Everyone saw you on YouTube every day for hours a day and you boasted about running around having fun with backer's money in your pockets.

2. Responsibly handle backer's money by putting the campaign it funded FIRST and putting playtime and rewarding yourself LAST! And that was a huge FAIL! Not only was it a FAIL but you advertised it was a FAIL by announcing you were rewarding yourself.

3. Use the backer's money to give them the highest level of quality product. FAIL! Because you blew through the money with all the self control of a 4 year old, and because you saw the backers as only people to be used for money, you sought out cheap foreign printing services. Instead of hiring one of the best printers who could create better floppys at a faster rate than would give backers their comics faster and of the quality you led them to believe they would receive, you went cheap! So backers are getting ink damaged comics at a slower pace.

You failed at everything except at spending money. You got the money you wanted and your backers were screwed. That is what is called: A scam! You are what is called: A scammer!

It is not haters that revealed yourself to be a scammer, it is you. You did it. Just as Breitweiser did it. And even worse, you and Breitweiser are so mentally warped, you think the fans should just be happy you two sad jerk-offs came out of the deal with lots of money. The backers should put you two first like you are their little kids they should want to do well in life.

It blew poor Breitweisers mind so much when backers didn't approve of his scheme to use them to score a WalMart deal that the deranged fool started throwing a 3 year old's fit by smashing his head into his baby crib.
