He's NOT attractive. That's a big problem too. Without an interesting personality or good looks it's hard to believe he manages to attract EVERY girl in school.

As far as I can tell he's going with the early 2000s ideals of harem anime design. Pick a boring boy that the audience will just assume is irresistible. but even in today's animu creators try to make the protag a little more distinctive than this ancient trope. At least one defining feature is important.

Just looking at protags on basic bitch anime like on Toonami you have male protags with defined designs that are memorable and stand out. I often have a hard time finding senpai and without the pink halo of love he would get lost in the crowd.

Harem protags are created to be as bland as possible so the losers who watch them can insert themselves into him.

Senpai is YanDev's self insert. Bland, boring, and has no attractive qualities minus the lolcow aspects.

A Sanity/Mental Health stat for senpai makes sense as it can be a form of encouragement to eliminate rivals by means other than "stab them in the courtyard when nobody is looking and leave their bloody corpse to be found by the student body", except forms of rival elimination by means other than horrible violence will be released as DLC on the Epic Store in 2030.

Stuff like this is exactly why everyone was calling Alex a tard when he started insisting that his game's plot wasn't a parody 2-3 years ago. He's too shit at writing, character design, and world-building to make a serious, anime-based plot.

You know what’s sad? Most of his fans actually talk like that. I don’t really understand why Alex thinks that most of his fans are adults when a cursory glance at his video comments section or the subreddit reveals otherwise.

He once cited YouTube demographics as proof that most of his audience was above 18 years old, when most of them are probably using their parents’ YouTube accounts.

I can't even imagine how happy I'd be to release a commercially successful meme game. I'd pay as many people as my patreon allows to get it out ahead of the hype and bask in the sales of my one hit wonder that'll be forgotten by next month.

This is what should have happened but no, it has to be a deep art project that takes years of sperging out to finish.

The ship sailed a long time ago. And then it sunk before it even reached its first stop. Yet it still has idiots funding a sea-locked ship with the dreams of something greater. Don't miss your window, you'll never get another one.

Milk it as aggressively as you can, and show that you're thankful.
 
I can't believe it's already been one fucking year since Alex released his epic Gremlin chimpout video... oh how time flies.
 
It's sad to see the thread lose enthusiasm since then (although it was so spammy it had to get a warning), but it kind of befits the game's development cycle.
