Surely it'll be picked up by other news agencies later on, we can update the OP if necessary.

Having said that... I'd say it's a step in the right direction, but a little too late. Your move, Zucc.

It was at that very moment the worlds loudest, uninterrupted autstic shriek was recorded, originating from the home of Brianna and Frank Wu.

I'll believe it when the elections are over. Until then I expect to see just as much Dem shilling as I thought would happen prior to this announcement.

While I feel this is a great move, just see this response for why it’s never enough with the unhinged alt-left. Their ultimate goal is to promote “approved speech” which just so happens to have leftist slant and pushed their agenda.

Advocacy is good when it’s the advocacy I support!

Anyway, when we say the left better watch out when they ban speech they have no right to get mad when their speech is banned too.

Incoming ShareBlue "totally authentic" shills posters to "totally not politically advertise" on twitter by the thousands in 3...
And that'll be just one way that this new rule will be circumvented by savvy politicians and the powers that be.

Anybody who actually believes that this will accomplish anything, or even be impartially enforced, are just fooling themselves and aren't paying attention.

It's an old complaint that schools don't teach proper civics classes any more, but wow that guy takes thoughtless politics to another level.

Does nobody do the "go back 50 years and ban what they thought was bad then" mental exercise any more? We're only 40 years off banning speech about gays, 30 from banning rap, 20 from banning marijuana advocacy, etc. Do these idiots have the memory span of 1 week or something?

lol ... they're scared shitless he's going to win again (and they're right to be), and this is just the first of many steps to try to deplatform him. You just watch -- all these technocracies are going to "take the high road" and pretend not to accept political ad buys while continuing to manipulate what trends and what gets buried to favor their preferred candidate. Meanwhile, I wonder how Twitter's investors feel about the company willfully rejecting an easy revenue stream.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see the MSM just outright refusing to air certain political ads (take a guess whose campaign will have the most "refusals") while continuing to air exclusively negative coverage of Trump and exclusively favorable coverage of <democrat_nominee.getName()>. They're already so brazen about everything now, so what would it matter for them to take the next logical step?

If the MSM follows Twitter's example and just refuses to air all political ads entirely ... now that'll be an interesting admission too. The corporate standard in America is "pursuit of profits above all else." They've already turned away from that, since their ratings are terrible (and falling) and they're losing money yet they keep doing the things that destroyed their ratings. Giving up the lucrative political ad market would be conclusive proof they're no longer in business for profit, but for propaganda.

Smart move by twitter to phrase what is an obvious politically motivated decision to be about higher ideals and using "keeping money out of politics" talk that appeals to average plebs. No wonder he is a CEO.

Does this mean if someone makes a tweet in support of a candidate, it can be reported as “political advertising”?

Nope, and that's the rub. You make it so that the opposition can't spend their way to influence on your platform, which counteracts any inbuilt bias they have.

Última edición:
If Drumpf gets re-elected, oh man... Jack, Zucc and everyone else will be scrambling on what to do next. It'll mean that this policy didn't do shit.
If Trump had the requisite desire he could easily start his own "Twitter" specific to his campaign. Honestly I'm not sure why "Private twitters" aren't a thing, cut out the middle man and make it how you want it.

if they allowed political advertising A&H would be bitching about how the poor conservatives are being marginalized by (CTR / Shareblue / Soros / [insert other spooky interest group here])'s nonstop shilling

now that they've banned it, A&H will bitch about the honest, hard-working, benevolent conservative donors who have been deprived of their YHWH-given right to express themselves with loads of money

truly there is no way for trump to win again (even though he totally will). a true catch-22. oy, vey ist euch.
