This is what I hate about the no child left behind ideology. I don’t know if this kid here was in US or not, but here no matter how disabled a child is they have to attend “school” in some form. I know someone personally who has a child with Cerebral palsy who was basically an infant in the mind but due to laws he had to attend school in some fashion by the time he was eight. They got around this by “homeschooling” him and somehow his physical therapist home visits and the daily pt he required was considered enough to qualify.

I understand the principle of education but Jesus. The other option they had would have been to bus a potato 30 minutes away so he could sit in a room and drool. It’s fucking ridiculous. This kid is now in his 20s so the laws could have changed but maybe this mom is just trying to avoid getting in trouble with the government.

Here's the thing.
Having a child with disabilities is expensive. They need lots of specialized medical care. You know what Americans don't have? Free medical care. You know what they do have? Free school. And they're legally required to accommodate disabilities. There are a lot of severely disabled children in the public school system who really belong in a medical setting but they're not because nobody will pay for that.

I understand the point of the videos, and the whole "some of these kids who look really fucking weird have the same cognitive ability as you and like the same things as you so don't be a total dick!" but I don't think you'll ever be able to convince children that they shouldn't be afraid of kids who look like this, or that they're "just like everyone else".

She has seizures 24/7? Sounds like a major liability. If the other children are able to sit at a desk and do worksheets then they ust not be as disabled as this kid. She does not belong in a mainstream school. The mother already hates the classroom she was placed in. If anything goes wrong she will probably sue despite her daughter being physically and developmentally unfit for school. Let her stay home.
 
She has decided to homeschool. And decided that the child who is mentally two years old is a third grader.

I like that they aren't driving their sped to school because it's less convenient for them. The sped riding the bus to and from school is obviously inconvenient for everyone else around them. The sped is also not everyone else's responsibility, it is the parent's responsibility. I cannot fathom how this person even remotely can think they're in the right in this situation.
 
I don't understand why the school he goes to doesn't have buses for kids with disabilities. What do they do for a child who's in a wheelchair? It's not like 'short bus' is a new concept.

There are a few parents who parent autisc kids properly.
But it is far easier to drug excuse and get round the clock in home services for your not even tarded kids didn't you learn anything from Susan and Michael books on how to create child brain damage so you can make others babysit them?
 
Yeah, this mom is a massive cunt. This is completely unreasonable to expect of anyone, even the short bus. It's also incredibly unfair to everyone else they have to sit still and not make a single noise because the one tard kid that doesn't even go to regular school with them anyways will freak the fuck out. Either this kid has been poorly parented to not tolerate people talking, or they're a complete and utter lost cause who shouldn't be out in public ever anyways.

If the kid really was seriously autistic he would have an aide on the bus with him since they would need someone trained with him. It's probly just a parent of a brat who self diagnosed as autistic.

not every school district can afford bus aides, even if they're legally required to do so. if they can't afford separate buses for special needs kids, this doesn't sound like a great school district.

it sounds like he goes to a regular school that has an autism program.
