I strongly believe a surgeon wouldn't advise her ( a 600 lbs dying woman) to eat eggs, bacon, jerk and frozen meals, no blood tests??? no nutritionist?? no weigh loss procedures suggestions like a gastric balloon (quite cheap and simple)????No booklets, leaflets, notes????
Even Chantal when went to the Doctor had to see a nutritionist and they gave her a booklet with several options of food and portions to follow, was an amazing diet plan.
The diet Amber made up was so flawed that she even forgot the dinner she come up with the next day, and she still can't remember till those days that she suppose to have a meat and veggies, in her head is it still the 700/800 cal of the breakfast and the frozen meal.
I do believe she saw the doctor, but I do not believe the rest of the bs, he would not ignore the fact that she is 600ls, wouldn't ask for all the exams possible or try to find a procedure to save her life if she can pay for it (in cash).
Something was said , and made Becky cry (twice), and whatever it was, was enough for they not to go back.
My guess is that they can't afford the possible treatments/procedures/professionals and exams required to even start with.
She can keep making appointments with several different surgeons as it doesn't cost much and allow her an excuse to travel for food, but will never be more than that.
i think chantal is a good example of what most weight loss doctors would do in this situation. and chantal is significantly smaller than amber.
amber 100% made that information up. if she really did consult a weight loss doctor, she received either a 1. consultation to a nutritionist that she never went to because she left his office knowing she would never come back or 2. a meal plan very similar to chantal’s - a natural diet diverse in protein, fibrous carbs, and healthy fats. chantal was able to curate her diet to a degree, she could change things up sometimes to keep her diet interesting. most of her food choices required some degree of preparation but, once again, amber doesn’t want to work for her weight loss, so demanding or planning a diet around preparing absolutely no food is going to be difficult. either way, she completely threw the entire diet type deal situation out the window and whole ass lied to her audience.
nobody with a doctoral degree, who deals with super morbidly obese patients and their immense range of health issues from high blood pressure to diabetes, would recommend she eat as much beef jerky as she wants all day. no weight loss doctor would vouch for frozen walmart dinners, or precooked bacon, or mcdonalds whenever she desires. if these snacks or meals were brought up, it was in passing. “i like beef jerky,” amber said. “beef jerky is allowed on the diet in moderate amounts,” the doctor said. and that was somehow spun into eating three bags of beef jerky and dropping the plan altogether when it was too salty, only to result in her
still eating three bags of beef jerky a day and losing 0 pounds in this challenge? goal? are we still doing the “100 days of trying” at this point? who knows.
i doubt he would recommend gastric balloon, though. there’s no indication that amberlynn is either dedicated to changing her eating habits in any way and her condition probably isn’t good enough to put her on an even mild anesthetic. they need to see that she can lose even a single fucking pound without gaining back ten, first, and she’s clearly incapable of that.
the financial struggles theory is interesting. it would be one way to interpret her recent flexing. she could be insecure about her financial position. however, that would imply she spends a considerable amount of money each month. i doubt she makes 10k a month as she claims - those stats are usually inflated by wildly successful periods in a channel’s lifetime - but i don’t think she’s poor, either. even if she makes half of that, she could purchase insurance to cover the cost of testing and treatment for a life-saving procedure as long as that money isn’t going straight to her hoard.
if i had to guess, the crying was a consequence of being sat down by a medical professional and told: you are going to die, very soon. you need life saving treatment. and becky knowing that amberlynn is too lazy to pronounce words right, stand up while cooking her precious food, commit to doing anything for more than five seconds. she knows she’s dating a rube with a soon-to-be dry udder and she has a gigantic gap in her resume that just keeps growing bigger as she chauffeurs big al around town all day.
