I don't understand the need for fanartists - usually adults - to slap their gender and sexuality headcanons onto characters who are 15 year olds. It makes them (the artists) look like freaks.

That's a "thing" with lots of these arts, even decently-drawn ones. I've seen the "lesbian AU of Sleeping Beauty" art a week or so ago - if not for the text, the "butch" looked 100% like a guy.
I guess admitting you are into heteros is too uncool.

The AU pic's "butch" looked like a normal young guy (couldn't find it, saw a lot of crap trying - thanks, google). And a lot of these tend to have buff/medium thin guy look.
