General Wrestling Discussion

Per /wooo/, Michael Elgin had posted this attached image on twitter recently and deleted it. He’s venting over the heat he had over the Moses Malone drama. r/Squaredcircle still has some heat with him, I remember seeing people being unreasonably pissy over him going to Impact Wrestling.

Some interesting details here. He calls out Malone’s bullshit gofundme, outrage culture, David Bixenspan being based for once (but also kind of a faggot since he hounded Meltzer and then stayed quiet on the story).

MJF is just soooooooo good
I've only caught a little bit of him, seems like he just does basic "smug douche asshole" but he does it very well, like how Killer Kross just does basic "I am a mean bad guy" but really nails the execution of it.

Corbin looks like he should be working under Carl Benjamin's shift at Applebee's.
Guys like Corbin are the reason I buy the rumors about Vince McMahon being in the closet. He makes too many bad decisions related to handsome men (HBK, the WBF, at least half a dozen failed Billy Gunn pushes, and too many other examples to list) for a straight dude.

Sure, I say the same thing about Taylor Swift, and regularly get mocked for it. But she was caught tonguing her Victoria Secret supermodel girlfriend in public over half a decade ago, and even she's not as suspect as Vince.

Handsome men.

Baron Corbin.

Something doesn't add up.
I don't get it either, but Meltzer himself brought it up on a late-June Observer Radio.

I also don't get the appeal of bodybuilders, but Vince gets their appeal so much he thought people would pay money just to see muscular men pose off against each other.

Then there was the time Scott Hall kinda outed Vince in a shoot interview. And the time the Road Warriors said they thought Vince and Shawn were fucking each other. And the time Bret Hart did the same thing on Howard Stern; and in his autobiography; plus this one bit in his autobiography where Bret described having to fight off an unnamed guy who wanted to fuck him, which would've made a lot more sense if the story were originally about Vince and changed to keep off a lawsuit. And the über-gay HoF ring ceremomy between Vince and Shawn.

There's never been anything as compelling against Vince as there's been against Michael Jackson or Kevin Spacey, at least when it comes to men. But a helluva lot more things about him make sense if you assume he's into men.

Takes on some whole different perspective when you go back and watch a promo Tony Atlas did with Vince from around 1980 and Vince is oohing and aahing like he's at a strip club.

All of this talk about Vince's obsession with muscly men and I think people are forgetting one pivotal fact about Mr. McMahon: the dude is batshit insane. It's nigh impossible to get a handle on his mental state because of the bizarre way he conducts himself. He's an over the top, larger than life figure who loves fart jokes and vulgar humor, yet he's also very reclusive and incredibly protective of details regarding his past. I hope to god that one day we get a real autobiographical piece about his upbringing to help us better examine what makes him tic, but until that day comes I'm always hesitant to jump to any conclusions regarding all of the rumors about him.

Trying to remember but didn't he get touched by his dad or stepdad when he was a kid which is why he has this these feelings for big sweaty men? Aside from that the only thing I know about his early life was before not getting into wrestling was he tried to run a brick company with Linda and it went belly up.

PLAYBOY: Was the abuse all physical, or was there sexual abuse, too?

MCMAHON: That's not anything I would like to embellish. Just because it was weird.

PLAYBOY: Did it come from the same man?

MCMAHON: No. It wasn't...it wasn't from a male.

PLAYBOY: That's so mysterious. It sounds like a difficult thing for a kid to deal with.

MCMAHON: You know, I'm not big on excuses. When I hear people from the projects, or anywhere else, blame their actions on the way they grew up, I think it's a crock of shit. You can rise above it. This country gives you the opportunity if you want to take it, so don't blame your environment. I look down on people who use their environment as a crutch.

PLAYBOY: Surely it must shape a person.

MCMAHON: No doubt. I don't think we escape our experiences. Things you may think you've pushed to the recesses of your mind, they'll surface at the most inopportune time, when you least expect it. We can use those things, turn them into positives-- change for the better. But they do tend to resurface.

PLAYBOY: We can leave that topic, but one last thing first. You said that the sexual abuse in your childhood "wasn't from the male". It's well known that you're estranged from your mother. Have we found the reason?

MCMAHON: [Pauses, nods] Without saying that, I'd say that's pretty close.

PLAYBOY: Still, you beat the court-martial and even graduated. By then you had stolen cars and run moonshine. You'd had a drink. You'd had your first joint. You'd lost your virginity.

MCMAHON: [Pauses] That was at a very young age. I remember, probably in the first grade, being invited to a matinee film with my stepbrother and his girlfriends, and I remember them playing with me. Playing my penis, and giggling. I thought that was pretty cool. That was my initiation into sex. At that age you don't necessarily achieve an erection, but it was cool. At around the same time there was a girl my age who was, in essence, my cousin. Later in life she actually wound up marrying that asshole Leo Lupton, my stepfather! Boy this sounds like Tobacco Road. Anyway, I remember the two of us being so curious about each other's bodies, but not knowing what the hell to do. We would go into the woods and get naked together. It felt good. And for some reason I wanted to put crushed leaves into her. Don't know why, but I remember that. I don't remember the first time I had intercourse, believe it or not.

PLAYBOY: Your growing up was pretty accelerated.

MCMAHON: God, yes.

Man, that was gay.

I just can't picture an entirely straight man getting that excited over a bodybuilder. I have a hard time even picturing a woman into men getting that excited over a bodybuilder. Women generally want men to, at minimum, not look like they could spontaneously combust at any moment. Even Naruto wasn't as homo-erotic as the WBF.

Whether or not VKM's gay, he sure has a lot of times where he seems very gay.

Women like an athletic looking guy. Not overly jacked bodybuilders. Vince definitely could be closeted and is trying to overcompensate by being overly macho and "alpha"

To me that is completely repulsive as it's not what a human body should look like, and cannot see how anyone beyond other bodybuilders would ever be interested in watching bodybuilding.

Remarkably, Gary has not only failed to drop dead from a heart attack, but still looks pretty much the same 30 years later

Hurr durr Vince is gay and is the worst thing ever . The G1 Climax begins today and I'm so excited to see KENTA tear it up. It sucked to see how he badly his run went in WWE. Hopefully he can still he can stay healthy enough to build up his momentum again. I just miss seeing that dude fuck people up.

Meanwhile in Mexico...

holy shit rvd was way high in that promo even for rvd

Something I noticed on Stomping Grounds, which took place the same place as the Booker/Buff match:

Stomping-Grounds-Invasion.jpg

There was a sign saying the Invasion Wasn't That Bad. Probably a coincidence, probably a plant, but since it's Tacoma Washington, is this kinda an attempt for an apology/hindsight about the crowd booing the Booker and Buff match?
