I get that it is sad that a person was driven to suicide, but why is everyone acting like he was some great hero and an "inspiration". He was just a dude who reacted to videos. When the reports about the dead body came in people were praying that it wasn't him. What makes him more important than anyone else? I know that he was famous so more people will be aware of him. Maybe I am just cold-hearted.
No, you're right.

Blah blah mental illness is no joke

It's down that road, to be sure. Life is easier than ever and people are possibly the most depressed. People invent problems for themselves if they don't otherwise have any. Mental illness is a joke.
If you are bullied on the internet, then don't log on to social media. If the internet is a source of income, then don't look at the chat or comments. People will stick around if you are already otherwise entertaining. Trolls will leave.

He seems to have had a mind of an infant. Eternally crying for attention and help. Even denying help while crying for it, is yet another layer of crying. Once people like this have sufficiently depleted their sources, they turn to this 😢:deagleleft: as the ultimate cry for attention and help.

Alternatively, he was a funny black man who was going through some shit mentally, and happened to be famous on the internet. Not knowing how to deal with this, he went all manic depressive and ended up throwing himself into a river. Mental problems are not, I think it's a result of most people not having a clue when it comes to dealing with real life and real emotions. Calling him an infant that threatened an-hero as a cry for help comes off to me as boiling everything that made up a real person down to your idea of an internet crybaby.

I think I asked this a while ago; how many lolcows have commited the big oof aside from Etika?
Dead cows incude Terry A. Davis, Julie Terryberry, Chance Carmichael, Chloe Sagal, James D. Barlow, Claire Hartley, Femme4memes, Chronically Jaquie and Baraka Mkray. I think that's it. They didn't all die of suicide though.

@Autocrat
probable bait, regardless powerleveling slightly as a kid who grew up with a dad with bipolar and had manic episodes
it's ridiculously hard approaching them, it's hard to tell when they're sane, and when they're not, he has clingy episodes, he has moments where he takes half of the house and completely trashes it if someone utters anything above a scream

it eventually gets to the point where he's the only one who can help himself seeing as there's not a lot in the way of mental health support out there for people like him apart from our intervention, as he's refused help at every turn

if anything the parallels are rather sobering and scary for me personally, and personally for most of my life i chalked it up to dad just being dad until i did some more research into it later in life

if i had to hazard a personal guess though, most of these volatile issues surface due to problems with confronting the various identities or masks one juggles, to the point where everything slips and runs downhill

edit: I deserved those TMIs for sperging like that, but I'll take it regardless due to not being used to explaining situations like those concisely and under 20 words

I get that you're trolling but for anyone that thinks mental illness isn't real....visit a psych ward.

Please give me attention, people who (mostly) aren't being cunts about a mentally ill man chucking himself off a bridge! I want some attention! Mommy didn't love me enough!
Calm down, Paul Joseph Watson. When's the video on why trump betrayed the cause coming out?

Surprisingly, Keemstar isn't one of them. Or at least I have yet to see his video on this news. That snippet someone posted earlier in the thread is very damning in retrospect, however.
If you look at Keemstars twitter, he's given his take on the situation, donated money to charity, and signed a petition to have Etika buried with the no bitch niggas tombstone outside youtube. Seems he's just trying to honor his memory at this point, which I respect.

The disingenuous YouTubers faking sympathy to cash in on his death are fucking disgusting.
It's not just YouTubers. Look up his name and the first couple of links you'll get are Entertainment Tonight and E! News lol I think those videos are monetized and trending too

Does anyone know why he killed himself? He seemed to have his life together (outside of his mental issues). His channel was taken down which must've been devastating but he bounced back with another channel, he had a loyal fanbase that donated to him and some money. He was well off than most people.

What exactly made him snap?
