True as that is (DA is a hive of strange fetish cartoon porn) Dobs is being called out on it because of his "holier than thou" stance regarding the sexual portrayal of women in media. One of the main reasons why he's so insufferable is because of his hypocrisy and refusal to admit to his own fetishes. I can guarantee that, had another artist drawn those images, Dobs would be up in arms over how said artist was "treating young women like objects". He is such an exception to his own rule that Dobs can't even comprehend the fact that he has exempted himself in the first place.

I'd like to address the bullshit he wrote about Shantae earlier, regarding this 'sexism/empowering' note.

The Shantae characters don't wear much. This is a fact. The setting is mostly based on the Middle Eastern aesthetics [see Aladdin], so we have Shantae dressed in a red version of Jasmine's outfit from the movie [or perhaps the outfit she wore when Jafar took over], Risky Boots and Sky wear bras rather than tops, and Rottytops wears a tank top and hotpants. On the same hand, the men usually are barechested, with vests rather than shirts if at all.

The reason why I bring it up? He is complaining about the 'space princess' outfits in the game. Outfits which seem to have MORE fabric, at some points, than their normal outfits. There's about the same degree of cleavages, of visible breasts, of belly buttons.

What makes them 'sexier', then, and therefore BAD? Is it only because you don't have your Pirate Tools or items during that section? It's not like they're NEEDED, though...

In short, Shantae is the anti-Dobson girl. I am entirely cool with this, and intend to play through Shantae and the Pirate's Curse again because of it. Also gotta love that Dobson ignored the huge array of ripped shirtless dudes, especially Bran-Son, the He-Man analogue.

The reason why he wanted a Patreon

This is just a recipe for disaster. It's rarely easy for someone to transition from not producing regular content to a strict schedule that they have to adhere to, and there's an added level of stress when you're reporting directly to your backers. I don't think Dobson understands what he's getting into with this Patreon business. People are giving him the excellent suggestion to prepare himself beforehand because otherwise it's going to be a short-lived endeavor, but of course he ignores it.

So, this is how it's going to go down: Dobs will set up Patreon, it will not magically change how often he produces content, his backers start asking for what they paid for, Dobs will "artistically" shut down and yell/whine at everyone who so much as looks at him wrong. None of it will be his fault, it's his backers' fault for causing him unneeded stress. Two months after the Patreon page goes up it's disbanded and Dobs makes an angry DA journal where he shifts all the blame onto whoever happens to be the easiest scapegoat.
