UN Birmingham school LGBT row: Trial date set over protests

A court trial will be held over whether protests can be held outside a Birmingham primary school.

Parents had been gathering at Anderton Park Primary School over concerns children were "too young" to learn about LGBT relationships.

A temporary injunction was put in place to prevent protests from being held directly outside the school.

A High Court judge ruled a trial would take place next month to decide if the injunction can remain in place.

The trial is scheduled to take place between 22 and 31 July and is expected to last two to three days.

The protests have been taking place for weeks, with parents saying they are concerned the lessons are not "age appropriate" and they contradict Islam.

The High Court injunction has been in place since 31 May, banning protests outside the school, which had to close early before half-term due to escalating action.

But protests have continued and, on Friday, parents held their first demonstration since it was brought in, where about 40 people gathered outside the exclusion zone on an area of grass about 100m from the school.

Protesters were outside the hearing held at the Priory Law Courts in Birmingham on Monday.

Lawyers for Birmingham City Council told the hearing the aim of the injunction was not to prevent people expressing their views about what children are being taught but to protect pupils, parents and staff from "unacceptable behaviour".

The courts also heard how a police investigation was still ongoing into an incident in which people who tied ribbons to the gates in support of the school and members of the LGBT community had eggs thrown at them.

But John Randall QC, representing the protesters, said there had been no arrests.

The protests, he said, had been peaceful and it would require a "snowflake sensitivity" to regard them as terrifying or threatening demonstrations.

The hearing is continuing to decide whether the injunction will remain in place until the trial.

On Sunday, it emerged Roger Godsiff, the MP for Hall Green, which covers Anderton Park school, will be spoken to by the Labour Party's chief whip after he told campaigners protesting against the lessons "you're right".

On the one hand I hate schools forcing liberal dogma on kids. On the other hand, Islam is a backwards, misogynistic, regressive and oppressive religion. Europe fucked up by importing these idiots in by the boatload and the only way to break their religion is to indoctrinate their children.

It’s fine if they don’t teach anything about trannies imo.

What are they about then? Would you care to elaborate, friend?

Kids here have an entire discipline to learn about "societal issues", feminism, racial issues, lgbt+ issues, wtv.

I'm fine if you want to mention gay people in passing, you can do it in history class or sex ed. But dedicating as much time to this bullshit as they do math is fucking retarded.

4% of the population shouldn't have so much time dedicated to them.

In the case of this school it is literally just a book where one of the kids has 2 dads. You know like how some of the kids in the class might. There's no guide to fisting, bath houses or cock and ball torture. The lesson is literally that gay people exist so the 'they shouldn't be learning about any relationships' argument doesn't apply here unless you also reckon that a story including characters called Mr and Mrs is shoving their sex lives down the throats of the innocent.

Love how the article frames this as simply a "teaching row". There's one mention of Islam that makes it sound as if it's a secondary issue after "age appropriateness". Classic BBC.

ALL the protesters are Muslim. If they were being honest they'd frame this as the inevitable result of Islam being incompatible with liberal western values. The only reason they didn't do this earlier is because they were waiting until they had the numbers at a given school.

Makes me wonder how much longer the media is going to be able to put a band-aid on this and pretend it isn't a rotting festering wound.

Fucking seriously? They don't have the balls to counter-protest sandmonkeys' backwards homophobic values so they just try to make protesting in one spot forbidden?

Nothing ever went wrong when you forbid protesting of any kind, any place, no sir. These dumbasses deserve to become Airstrip One.

Muslims are going to try to genocide the gays in Europe if Europe keeps letting Muslims into Europe. Instead of teaching kids about homosexuality they will be teaching kids they have to be a Muslim or they will be stoned to death if they don’t become Muslim and liberals won’t be able to do anything to stop it because Muslims are brown skinned but gay people are white privilege so the liberals support the Muslims instead of the homosexuals and then the Muslims start killing the liberals who supported them because they are white

And yet if it were christians that would be all-capsed in the article headline because these people are insistent that Christianity is incompatible with liberal western values. Christians have to apologize for being christian to liberals, yet when you swap christians for muslims suddenly the apologies flow the other way.

The one thing I am looking forward to when the Caliphate is victorious, is walking around downtown Chicago and watching faggots plummet to the Earth and splatter.

Liberal crap like is very personal to people. People have their reasons to find sexual degeneracy as evil. It's their right. Would you like it if I passed a law that said your kids had to be taught my way of thinking was the only right way 100% of the time, with no counter balance and you could be punished for not sending your kids to my indoctrination center? That's what these people are facing. It's literally a situation of people having their personal beliefs undermined by a state that says they have no right to exist.

The irony being that Muslims want to be permitted to teach children that Islam is 100% the way, the truth and the light, are scripturally commanded to do anything necessary to convert people, and believe they'll be rewarded in the afterlife for killing anyone that doesn't. I'm no fan of the bullshit being pushed by progressives, but I'm even less of a fan of murderous barbarians that happily go on killing sprees if you tell them they need to keep their stone age religion to themselves, or even for something as asinine as "drawing their desert-crazed sociopath preacher".

How the hell is teaching children about LGBT+ relationships, 'age inappropriate'? What is so inherently wrong about telling kids that it's ok to love someone who happens to be the same gender as you? If anybody is being a 'sensitive snowflake' in this situation, it's these protesters.

Because it isn’t ‘mark has two mummies and that’s fine.’ Teaching for kids has to be factual, age appropriate and in line with safeguarding principles. So ‘good’ sex ed is stuff that starts with things like the NSPCC (child protection charity) and their ‘pants’ campaign, which teaches very little kids that no one should be touching them in various areas, and that names the body parts correctly. This helps kids who are just being verbal to stay safe.

At that age, 3-4 they often don’t even have a grasp of pronouns or a concept of the sexes. They absolutely do not need to be told that they can change sex, they do not need to know about sexuality (gay or straight or anything) because that’s imposing a premature view of sexuality on children and all child protection experts agree that is grooming because it’s boundary violation.

As they get older, they need factually correct biology, and older still you can start to talk about sex and then older still about sexuality. The problem with no outsiders is that it’s far, far too sexual and has factual inaccuracies.

Some further examination of the materials is here at transgender trend http://archive.is/x5cIy

There are also a few good threads examining the various actors on mumsnet
http://archive.is/kdMGv. Just search for ‘no outsiders.’

Gendered intelligence, a trans pressure group focused on children were involved in drawing the materials up - Katie sakeld amd Andrew Moffat are both involved with GI. The pushing of the ‘queer theory’ and trans angles go hand in hand with dismantling safeguarding procedures for children. It’s deeply worrying. Too sexual, too factually inaccurate, trans focused, worryingly focused on children’s sexuality not the safety of children and the mechanics of reproductive biology.

The media are reporting it as ‘anti gay Muslim parents’ and that’s really just one small part of it. The trans and sexuality stuff is the real issue

Yeah, England is a country where being in a gay relationship, marrying a same sex partner, and having a family via assisted reproduction or adoption with a same sex partner is all completely legal.
The parents in these 'disputes' are calling for the schools to, er, not point that fact out.
If you don't like that gay people have rights in the country you live in, other countries are available. But the state schools of the country you are in are going to teach according to the law of that country.

Personally i think this is a strange one, cause on the one hand theres the debate of whats 'appropriate' or not to teach kids, but the reality is this is only being brought up as an issue by these protesters cause they're muslim. But no one can say that cause its (((islamaphobic))) to criticise islam. So instead they have to report on it with no mention of the elephant in the room here that anyone looking at the article can see very clearly- the photos of the protests give a pretty clear idea lmao.

I'm willing to put money on the people protesting this not giving a fuck if kids are being told genderfluidity is ok or if its just "some people have 2 dads and thats ok" and instead want to keep their kids believing Allah wants those dirty gays dead and gone. It's a debate of religious values, not erasing LGBT people from education or whatever people are saying this is.

If you actually read the report, you will see that the legal dispute here isn't over whether or not parents will be able to force schools to abandon the new curriculum (the government already seems to have firmly rejected that idea), but over whether or not these protests constitute 'harassment'.

Personally, I'm siding with the authorities on this one. If you are going to go out of your way to gather in groups in an effort to intimidate parents, children, and teachers for attending school simply because you don't like the curriculum, then frankly, you are just making a nuisance out of yourself, and achieving nothing positive for your community.

The ringleader of these protests doesn't even have children attending the school. Says it all, really.

Storm the fucking school. For real. The biggest mistake the right has made and the smartest move the left has made was somehow getting fucking muslims on their side. If the right wasnt so stupid and tried a little harder to actually win, muslims would be on the right with atleast a tenuous alliance. NO sane man in america wants their kid learning about this shit in this feminized awful school system thats taking over.

There was a study that showed introducing topics like this massively increased the rates of kids saying they were trannies or gay. It was a study by an ivy league college in the US and the results/study had to be censored and scrubbed from the internet. It basically showed that kids love getting a pat on the back and social credit which "coming out" as trans or gay or whatever the fuck got them alot of. Before they even know what it means kids were saying they were gay or trans or whatever. Im fine with tolerance but its not as important as not causing mental illnesses in children and telling them they can put a dress on and its fine. Fuck that.

Literally why should the Muslims do that? They know they have the political clout to flex their muscles and their religion has clear opinions on anything homosexual related, From their point of view, why not demand the state bends to them? Especially when it already has many times in the past?

The UK is an Islamic autocracy and their educational standards should reflect that
