What are some nice online communities out there? - Or communities that you miss and that are gone now?

The best part of this place are the shit stirrers and pseudo trolls. Guys like @Y2KKK Baby and Dyn are truly artists in their own right. Even when, hell ESPECIALLY when they take shots at you, they're pretty damn funny

Actually, I know of another place with a community as nice as this that isn’t inactive to the point of it being a ghost town (and has tons of dank memes): 420chan. Believe it or not, that site is still very active and I couldn't recommend it enough.

I haven't been to a Chan in over 10 years. I stopped keeping up with all the Chan variants a long time ago.
 
I've only joined less than a day ago, but I honestly think this community is really good for a few reasons. First, the people here are nice, hospitable, and actually carry out discussions without being toxic or overtly-edgy. Secondly, the topics discussed here aren't pigeon-holed to just lolcows or random shit, and the topics discussed are fun to talk about and it's not just piss-taking for the sake of piss-taking, whether it's talking about music that you listen to or just talking about what kind of coffee you like. Basically, the people here have common sense and don't just screech "COLUMBINE WAS A HOAX HEIL HITLER xd", but instead criticize people for shit that they have actually done whilst we laugh at their dumb-assery.
 
There’s a reason why I stuck here for over half a decade now.

The vast majority of the people here are nice, rational and welcoming.

Sure you have the occasional jackass or degenerate pop in, but it wouldn’t be Kiwi Farms if that didn’t happen.

You guys are the best!

Honestly, KF is the least shitty place I've come across, barring some private discords and other similar, invite-only communities I've found.

that's a pleasant surprise. 420 was my first *chan (i was a dumb kid who browsed /i/ through the gore). 99chan was my favourite for its sense of humour, but unfortunately, last i checked it looked pretty dead
 
Every single community is the same. You got your oldfags with so many posts that there is no way they have any grasp on reality outside their circle jerk anymore. Then you got the clicks of people the burnt out shitposters with an axe to grind with whoever is friends with the mods for blatant favouritism. Then you got your newfags who I can never understand what they get out of sucking up and trying to ingraciate themselves into a community that was built on a totally different social paradigm. Then your faux-intellectuals and LARPers. And everybody else of course. I'm not convinced this place is any different but I can call you a faggot without getting banned if I really want too and that is a step up.
 
I only post in this community because it's a chill place, but I read a few other forums. Datalounge isn't too bad if you like celebrity gossip because it's filled with old gay guys who work in the industry and they have some good stories. You have to scroll past the nudes and cock threads to get to them, however. I lurked in the Something Awful forums when they were funny a very, very long time ago, and there's a whole thread here devoted to how that place fell to pieces.
