Not sure how it works in US (I am from EU), but where I'm from in order for IRS to audit someone, all it takes is a complaint/letter from the 3rd party. So if someone complained that person X is probably dodging taxes, it's very likely that my country's IRS would audit that person X.
In the US you can't say that someone is "probably" dodging taxes though. You not only have to provide a ridiculous amount of personal information about yourself and the person you're accusing, you have to sign under penalty of perjury that what you're alleging is true.

society, at least in america the great, also takes abuse from women far less seriously than abuse coming from men. There are some cases where victims have come forward and basically been laughed at because "how would a woman abuse you?". this is true for woman on woman abuse and woman on male abuse.
It is also important to remember how young Kasey was during all of this too. They got together when she was a sophomore in high school, while Amber would've graduated 2 years prior. Not only did she have statutory power over Kasey, she also is a master manipulator. It's hard for any abuse victim to get help, let alone a child being abused by someone in their household. I'm glad Kasey was able to call Al out on her bullshit after the fact.
