Welp it's over guys, Russell's taking down the farms.
Peace, it was fun while it lasted. :'(:'(:'(:'(:'(

You can Google how to do a valid DMCA in like five seconds. There's templates all over the internet you can just slap the right links and names into and send. I am endlessly amused by morons who can't even complete that extremely simple task correctly.

This is Russell Fucking Greer you're talking about. Don't you understand that he got a certificate of completion for the Paralegal Program from LDS Business College? It only took him five years! He's basically as good as a lawyer! Why would such a brilliant, inspirational mind need to look up how to properly complete a DMCA? You must think Russell Greer is some kind of pleb or a moron, but I assure you that you are incorrect. Russell Greer is an absolute genius with a brilliant legal mind. Just ask him!

Not just any moron, this a moron who claims to be a legal expert.

Null better braid his hair, put on that red dress and get them feets ready because Russ is serious this time.

How did he fuck this up? @AnOminous didn't you just post the correct information he would need to file this complaint?

lol it took him three letters and he still failed to do it right. I love that he sent an edited letter like he does with his facebook posts.

Serious question, if the song is offered for free can he still claim copyright? He isn't making money from it. Wouldn't this be like the pepe lawsuit?

Yes, it's still his copyright unless he releases it into the public domain (different than offering it for free- you can sue someone over a 'free' youtube video, for example). Whether he can actually be awarded any money is a different question that has a lot to do with whether the registrations were completed at time of infringement (I think in his thread it showed he didn't have a copyright for his song yet).

Even if he sends a proper DMCA and Null takes down the post, hopefully someone has archived it and it could just go up on an external site and be linked here instead.

Oh, searching the forum yields results for both of Russell's works? Well then. Dear Leader should hop right to it.

This guy's got a lotta nerve, asking Null to do his homework for him. Not the 7th cranial nerve though.

Except that the site is protected under Fair Use. We have reviewed, criticized, and parodied all his "works". This isn't YouTube where they'll immediately take down a video without checking to see if Fair Use applies whenever they receive a DMCA. Russ has no leg to stand on legally. He's just ass-mad because we're criticizing his "totally awesome" song.

Greer didn't spend an entire paragraph mentioning his
730245

though he said "disable" three times in the proper context. And yet I'm still disappointed.

But him fucking up and having to send three emails of a DMCA Takedown Notice for a pending copyrighted song (and the user who uploaded the song here paid for it first) yet still leaving it incomplete is classic Rusty material. The letter's not your personal Facebook post, Star Buddy, you can't just send it then decide to edit it to send it again another five times.

Russell! There's no need to feel down!
I said Russell pick yourself off the ground
I said Russell 'cause your book on the Farms
There's no need to be unhappy
Russell! There's a thing you can do!
I said Russell when they're laughing at you
You can find a-all the mean things they've said
And then file a take-down-notice.
It's always fun to file DMCA.
It's always fun to file DMCA.
It is going to work 'Cause you are victim here.
'Cause you're right and they are wrong!
It's always fun to file DMCA.
It's always fun to file DMCA. .
If you got really mad
On the world wide web
This is the best that you can get!

Fuck yes this is extremely my jam.

Null it’s cool just take him to Coldstone Creamery in your limo and this will all go away. Make sure he doesn’t choke on his sprinkle cone.
