Imagine thinking that the boatloads of Democrats who have reasonable congressmen and governors and vote mainly because they think the red elephant men will steal meemaw's healthcare (even though this is the literal last thing on anyone's priority list) give two shits whether or not a person like Maxine Waters knows what she's doing or whether Bernie Sanders is a massive hypocrite or not.
It's simply not their problem, and even if these nutjobs have some serious clout in the party, the same can be said of the wildly unpopular neoliberal rhinos that boatloads of Republicans elect as their only running choice, and no voter gets tarred and feathered over tossing out those guys.
Glad the investigation on the Bureau is finally going through though, they all but confessed to trying to 'interfere with the election', as it were, in the midst of the Mueller debacle and no one cared. "Oh no, we didn't wiretap Trump- we wiretapped Manafort! There's a difference!' 'Actually, we only put a spy in to try and entrap the Trump campaign.' etc.

You know what I think? I think that Trump by sheer virtue of being an idiot who makes bad associations with dubious characters managed to get himself tangled up in a wider intelligence hunt for foreign agents. I don't think he himself necessarily has any ties to the Russians or anything like that beyond certain choice business interests but because trump is an idiot who doesn't understand how consequences work decided that it would be smarter to actively and very openly attempt to subvert an ongoing investigation (because he's out of his depth and truly doesn't appreciate just how bad that looks) than just wait for it to eventually fizzle out and blow over on its own. He actively fed that particular fire which no doubt played no small role in his daily stresses.

Because "white supremacist", much like "racist, sexist, Nazi, conservative," have been used so much by twitter spergs to attack anyone they dont like that said words have lost all meaning. Her calling anyone a "white supremacist" might as well be auto-corrected to "dang dirty conservative".

She very much was downplaying 9/11, that was the whole point and the reason people got mad. She characterized 9/11 as "Some people did a thing" rather than "Islamic terrorists killed thousands of innocent americans". The fact that she quite literally has sympathies for and links to islamic terrorists makes it worse.

When people can classify the holocaust as "Some germans did some things" without being crucified we can look into more recent mass deaths.

Lets keep in mind that the current president was labelled as a Nazi for observing that Antifa attacking people and some crazy white supremicist killing a woman were "Both sides doing wrong".

And this is sort of like someone who is known to hang out with actual nazis saying the holocaust was just a thing that happened, because she is literally connected with literal terrorists. At least, a less tenuous connection than the one between trump and nazis.

In a vacuum, I'd agree the outrage is a bit much. But this is not a vacuum, and we've already seen what happens when one side can play dirty and the other side has to stay respectable.

It's different if you were there when it happened. Things got very messy on the ground in that neighborhood. Also, remember that people are still dying from it - Local residents, subway workers and many first responders have been lost to things like pneumonia, overnight lung cancer and random leukemia. People were going to funerals in 2016 and it's still fresh for some folks I know.
 
This might sound harsh but I would love to be a fly on the wall when somebody says something like "lol muh 9/11 is stupid" or "we need to move the fuck on" around someone who was there or who lost somebody due to it.

Whether it was an "inside job" or not it was a world-changing event that's only 20 years old, not 500. This isn't like people are making ado about the London Fire.
