🦊 Furry Furry Fandom and Drama General

To be honest, when I think "cultural appropriation", I think about companies making money off crappily-made Halloween costumes that misrepresent other cultures. Not some harmless art that features a furry of indiscernible race in a headdress and isn't actually that atrocious. But never mind, sjw furries are just going to automatically assume that the artist is a unrepentant racist right off the bat because of their race and said artist should just put up with being accused of something that could impact their career/reputation or be subject to further abuse. Because they're white and white people are always guilty of being racist. Always.

It's just impossible to win with these sjws. You're white, up your own ass and refusing to embrace other cultures? RACIST. You're white, interested in other cultures and you want to show appreciation for them through your work? ALSO RACIST.

My favourite part of all of this is how one individual with a stick up their ass went as far to call them a 'cunt' and, when the artist pointed out that their language wasn't exactly very liberal, they moved onto to accusing them of being transphobic because there was just no other way of condoning language normally reserved for 'womyn haters':

Native American war headdress became some kind of cultural shibboleth to the woke so it always riles them up. You can really tell they've never talked to or heard the concerns of actual Native Americans ever.

No, they don't want white people wearing the war headdress. No, they're not going to care about someone drawing art of an anthropomorphic cougar wearing a war headdress. The main concern is that the older tribal elder generation is rapidly dying off and most of the younger generation aren't interested in learning about their heritage because life on the rez is shitty and they associate being Native American with being in extreme poverty.

Do furries know about this when they're randomly screeching at Polish women on Twitter? Nah.

I despise people who yell "appropriation" at everything. We don't get to enjoy things from other cultures if we don't make them visible in some way and try to enjoy it ourselves but these people hate that other people in this world go out and try new things when they can't.
I'd be more than delighted to cook some traditional dishes of my culture for people who want to try it, and it's the same for many of all sorts of cultures. These people hate it with every ounce of their being that people get to enjoy other cultures.

Meanwhile they'll gladly sip on expensive latte's which the style originates from Italy and coffee itself originated from the ME, so you know, they totally know culture and history well.
If anything they're proof the horseshoe theory is real in some form. They sound a bit like /pol/ users and oldschool neo-nazis whining about white people taking interest in "degenerate" culture.

They seem like a pleasant person considering one look in their media tab showed they get involved in Twitter fights:

Yah but caring about that actual aspect of Native American life/culture would actually require effort and we can't have that.

Man, furries can't draw anything without that one person (or in a twitter term, everyone) bashing on them cause the stuff they drew was 'offensive' and 'disrespectful', huh?
In the future, maybe things will only be getting worse for furry artists though. What if, eventually, there would be more non-furry artists that can 'emulate' art styles who swoops in and takes all the money from just pretending to be a part of the fandom?
Suddenly, poof; Those who were once relevant within the artist part of the fandom moves on or even sunsets themselves.

Just playing with the thought at the moment, but sure; Everyone getting offended by stupid shit is just how the fandom is and has been for the longest time. Hence why it's so enjoyable to observe and laugh at, imho lmao.

Haha, tis' true, though. There will be tons of people who will swoop money from furries by pretending to be in the fandom and having those 'cute-sy' art styles, which I'm not surprised with since many do know how easily manipulative the fandom is when it comes to stuff they can't resist spending their life savings on. Now I have seen other fandoms get triggered over the smallest things, but the furry fandom is exceptional at adding politics, sjw-stuff, and even religion to art that's not even representing any of those. Having a good laugh at how absurd the fandom is at crying over the tiniest bits of stuff always makes my day.

Being a furry is a big mark of a seriously retarded development, both intellectual and sexual.
These braindead diaper crappers comform to the behavior pattern of woke morons because that's what their feeble minds constitude as mature.

One of my favorite discussions in a thread here was in the PK/Glip thread where people were using stream screenshots of settings and guides from the artist to "nail" their style. If one has artistic talent and knows the right Paint Tool Sai brushes (because 8 out of 10 internet artists still use Sai, the rest use Clip Studio Paint or Krita) they can nail someone's style. It might piss off furries but furries are only truly mad when outsiders copy them, because furries copy off each other when it comes to art styles, fursuits, and dildo designs.

A few furry artists are non-furries into anthro taking money because of the furry fandoms reputation for throwing money at people.

If you want a way to piss off the woke furries on Twitter without trying, it's easy. Just draw a character wearing a Native American headdress. You'll mine salt in no time AND get people saying your country has never experienced hardship as a bonus.

Here's a twist though, this time the artist was Polish, meaning they finally got exposed to the anglosphere culture of being offended on the behalf of other races:

Want to avoid offending furries? Judging by what furries get offended over a good idea is to copy whatever crusty west-coast furries are into.

Here is a woke furry who slept through history class about WWII and the Nazis:

Furthermore some Native American furries saw the intent of the image wasn't to offend/mock their culture:

To be fair it's pretty predictable, it's going to be a million tweets like this and non-passing troon selfies:

The fact there was at least one Native not being offended over this would make one wonder if any of the people calling the art "offensive" are full on lily white honkies trying to act offended on the behalf of Native Americans. Also like the fact that one of them questioned why the war bonnet was on a woman. That just makes the person in question sound rather sexist if women were able to wear it long before these people were born.

They'll likely brush off the Halloween costumes by saying their precious fandom is too infested with right wingers (both actual right wingers and what they may perceive as right wing). As for the individual with the stick up their ass, if "cunt" still manages to be a gendered insult to some groups that isn't looked highly upon, one can expect it to bite the furry in their ass the day they get into some spergy drama with another furry willing to look through their history of tweets.

Yah but caring about that actual aspect of Native American life/culture would actually require effort and we can't have that.
It would also mean they would have to acknowledge there are Native Americans that wouldn't get upset by the drawing in any way.

Actually, I've changed my mind: this has to be the best read of the shitstorm for me. Sadly not a furry but a show nonetheless, mostly because of the blatant white guilt that descends into hysterical misogyny real fast despite the artist's patient as fuck responses:

I guess having your whole online life centred around fetishising indigenous people and hating on other white women because you're ashamed of being a white woman is a way to combat white supremacy that I'm fortunately not in tune with.

Isn't it odd how playing the cultural appropriation card only ever plays into white supremacists' hands?

I like how someone told her she should stick to drawing furries wearing traditional Polish dress if she wants to do this sort of stuff.

Boy that sure sounds like the other way to get accused of being a white supremacist Nazi by a bunch of screeching furries.

She's a white canadian chick with the @ handle suspiciously similar to a tribe in nigeria, a bio about peace and essential oils going around calling a polish girl a racist and ignorant of genocide with as many swear words as possible. Its even more hilarious that she's the one going after every white person she can find to scream "white racist!" At them... Pot kettle black

It's exactly this, really. The art isn't offensive, drawing tasteful FN themed art isn't offensive, partaking in FN traditions aren't offensive (and is actually encouraged by many bands), neither is showing an interest in our culture, regardless if you're from Poland or North American.

What is offensive to us, is the ignorant merchandising and commercialization of our cultures by people trying to make a quick buck off of costumes, accessories, etc that show no regard for our culture. What is offensive, is seeing non-natives pretending to be native, dressed up, and trying to hock their wares to unsuspecting tourists. These are things that have a direct impact.

Someone witnessing our culture, being inspired, and wanting to draw something from that inspiration is as inoffensive as it gets. She's not calling it "native art", she's not trying to make a profit off of appropriating a culture, she just saw something that she admired and wanted to emulate that.

This is just a white person trying to be offended for us and it's fucking annoying.

Miigwetch.

The white Savior complex really is getting worse.
Pretty much at this point anytime I see some white person trying to "protect," any minority like this, I just know they have or still are racist to those very same people and this is thier way to cover it up.

Watch in like a few months time she will ethier insult native americans because she thinks doing this makes her an ally or now an honory native american thus she is in the clear to say horrible shit about them.

Or she has an old history we probably see at some point of insulting them and blah blah blah

Same shit different user, god damn it not funny anymore to see this same bullshit over and over
