They come from a culture of blandness. A world of Applebees, Chilis, and TGIFridays, subdivisions with siding-clad houses all identical to one another, going to First Methodist or First Presbyterian twice a year, and Hamburger Helper. They're also so ignorant of American history that they think different flavors of white-American have always peacefully coexisted, which is not true. But they think this because they think the rest of the country is the same sort of culturally bland.

I'm not saying that Mormons or Pentecostals or Italian-Americans or whatever can't be racist--but they're not gonna be kekistanis, because they don't need to be.

Yeah one of the main reasons the alt right will lose is that they can't build a legitimate or positive view of whiteness besides the bland coropotized cultural slush they currently use. There is really no moral center to it all making it feel hollow and more like scientism in how they deny all aspects of culture but iq. While that may appeal to a self loathing young person who wants to larp as a high iq trad philosophy who is carrying the torch of western civilization to most people it comes off as fake and kitsch. Yeah it would explain why they have such a basic view of white identity of just "whiteness" that developed from the middle class. It reminds of how sheltered progressives view minorities as precious angels probably due to that same sheltering. At risk of sounding like a skeptic it is interesting to see how these views are two sides of the same coin.

Both want easy answers, preferably answers that will absolve them of any need for actual analysis or critique while providing a self-esteem boost for the lowest amount of effort.
