Canada doesn't have gun rights. We have gun privileges. You need three separate background checks prior to purchasing a gun and government approval to transport the weapon directly from the store to your home. You then need different government approval to take your weapon to a shooting range. This approval can be revoked at any time by the national police service.

No automatics, and many semi-auto guns (including AR15s) are banned. If your gun is shorter than 24 inches, or the barrel is shorter than 18 inches it is illegal. If your weapon is magazine-fed, you can't possess a magazine that holds more than five rounds.

Joshua is innocent , he has nothing connect with shooting scene. And I can testify that he even don't have original shooting stream footage. Brenton uploaded that shooting scream onto FB originally and some Chinese overseas students downloaded it at the very first time then they shared it in Internet. Why you don't chase after those Chinese guys? I know this is because I know the shooting footage is not ditribute like this way(by Joshua's kiwi web), it has other ways which you don't know and totally cannot control! Now you disclose Joshua's privacy info. to public this behavior is very disgusting and severely infringe the human right. That's why your country and people got assaulted! because you originally has problem, everything has its reason!

I have my own qualms about the under-trained/over-militarized SWAT forces in most places, as it is.

But you go to war with the army you have. If you don't have some elite counter-terrorism force at your disposal, you still dispatch whoever's closest. This wasn't exactly a sniper scenario. Even in the US, it's almost always beat cops who show up to spree shooters.

After Columbine, PDs got their asses ripped (justifiably) for having a policy of containment during an active shooter situation and waiting for SWAT/SRT/Whatever to show up. It's a dumb procedure. That's why current procedure is to go in as fast and as hard as possible -- even if you're all by your lonesome. All about making the bad guy reevaluate while he has rounds coming downrange back at him.

The problem is that the cops in these countries like New Zealand, Great Britain, Ireland, etc aren't armed. That tends to work out for the daily beat, but when you have someone shooting up a mosque or someone beheading pedestrians in the street, what do you want your cops on the scene to do? And on top of all this, these countries make it next to impossible to defend yourselves -- and God help you if you actually do. It's compounding levels of dumb.

America has some serious issues, but I'm glad I live in a state where I know I have a ready means to protect myself. Instead of waiting 36 minutes for some armed cops to eventually show up.

It seems the fake news is spreading and evolving. Some journalist who has no idea read this hit-piece ( https://archive.li/3Xynb ) and even added his own made up facts about the shooter posting here before the attack. This is why you can't trust journalists alone to tell you what is going on.

I work in a country the New Zealand authorities would never cooperate with in an industry where we are targets of terrorist attacks. After viewing this video and analyzing it with others we have made minor but important changes the the internal layouts of some of our buildings that would slow an active shooter in the event he was able to incapacitate our armed security at the entrance.

On that note, our security usually was posistioned in a configuration similar to the first two victims at the entrance of the mosque. We have made changes to our stationing of our entrance security based on things we saw.

We would not have this information if not for Kiwi Farms. If our offices are ever attacked in this manner, Josh Moon @Null saved lives while the New Zealand government actively tried to prevent lives from being saved.

AR15s have a sporting exception in Canada, and the Tavor is considered an unrestricted weapon and not subject to government transportation approval.
