I suppose I can't say what the roads were like, nor how equipped or LEO ready the police were, but here's a very quick Google Earth image off a very quick Google Maps search of where everything happened. • Go back to his car to change weapons

• Go back in the mosque to autistically spray at a pile of dead corpses

I don't live there... thank Christ(((church))), but I assume he headed north around the park and bypassed downtown, No idea, but I'd guess police office in downtown is the admin building, and they are useless fucks, maybe that is also their processing/remand, but Id guess the other one is their "Division One" type HQ, and probably the only place they actually house a tactical unit from.

Its just the police here, they've been revenue collectors for a while now instead of fighting real crime. I've needed them 3 times in my life, all three times I got sweet fuck all from them and sorted shit for them. Calling them shit would be a compliment....

While I get what you are saying, I live in Australia's largest city. The 3 closest LACs are each 15 minutes or more away from me, so by the time a 000 call is answered and cars are dispatched from any of them, it's going to be 10 minutes or more until they get here. There would only be a faster response if a car happened to be on patrol/attending an incident closer (and they frequently leave one incident to respond to a more serious incident).

In the city proper, it can be even worse because of traffic - there is literally nowhere for cars to pull over to make way for emergency vehicles.

In the end, a lot of it gets down to tax dollars. The metro response time could only be improved by having more cars on patrol and having LACs closer together, and our state governments not willing to pay for that (in fact they're doing the opposite with fire and ambulance and trying to consolidate them into larger stations farther apart to cut costs).

I don't know about NZ but our emergency services (especially police and ambulance) use the same sirens and the sound used is more indicative of the urgency of the response than which service is approaching.

In NZ police, ambulance and fire all sound different. They can make random bleepy noises to indicate urgency
