I find it quite interesting how he rationalizes this behavior. Although I don't have the time to read his entire manifesto, I've skimmed through it a bit. He doesn't even see himself as awful, he sees himself as a hero, one to lay vengeance on another race for what they did to another race 600 years ago. In his 8chan post, he talks about how he hopes memes will be made about him. For those to share his postings.

The fact it's so linked to 4ch/8ch culture is awful in its own right, but it makes me curious on how that type of shitposting legitimately affects unstable individuals. While I'm sure many are on these types of sites for the meme, most are 13 to 24 young men, and some people who believe such rhetoric, but would never kill, and the minority who are like this person. Unstable, impressionable, and the mentally deranged.

I don't think in a Western country with full openness to the Internet can someone ever be blamed by "rhetoric" for what they did. 8chan and 4chan is 99% irony in my opinion and this guy is obviously old enough to know right from wrong. It's one thing to blame radicalization of young jihadis who live in cultures/societies where any outside information is either hard to come by or is condemned daily. It's another to take idiotic anonymous Internet posters seriously.
