I would think that any child support that Micheal has to pay would go to the state of Cal in the case of a little longer term inpatient care. He could try fighting it only if she loses custody totally, but yea....Her tugboat will also revert to the state since what the fuck does she need the money for? Cory? yea he only acts like a child; no need for support there. Personally I think Jim Croces "Car Wash Blues" is apt soundtrack as far as he's concerned.

I'd put my worthless layman's money on just bipolar + narcissist. People with NPD have low/no empathy, are extremely manipulative, and crave attention and praise. These criteria fit Susan to a T.

I don't think Susan has schizophrenia. Not a doctor, but people with schizophrenia have a certain... affective demeanor that Susan does not have (nor does Jani, for that matter).
Besides, she already has a confirmed diagnosis of bipolar disorder, and manic delusions would easily create the beliefs and behaviors Susan exhibits, no schizophrenia required. I'm not sure why Susan's delusions seem so consistent, however--while her actions and outreach seem to come in manic waves, as far as I can tell she always remains firmly convinced of her children's schizophrenia, even when not "manic." Do any Kiwis with deeper medical knowledge know if bipolar delusions can persist like this?
She does seem quite narcissistic, but I'm not even sure if she would be diagnosed with NPD. Her disconnect from reality could be the cause of her inability to relate to people or empathize. She doesn't seem to see her children as people, but whether that's an inability to acknowledge others' humanity in general or a specific response to their existence in relation to her as "belonging" to her, I'm not sure.

I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now, but I just wanted to say how ELATED I am that DCFS finally rescued Bodhi and Jani from Susan and Cory! I think the timing was well thought out. Michael not being about to get to LA was planned, so that the kids can be away from all "parental" influences and evaluated unimpeded. Like others have said, I think the situation isn't going to be as overwhelming as some think. Both kids have spent countless weeks/months in inpatient psych wards, so this is nothing new to them. I'm sure they're thrilled to have actual beds, no cameras in their faces, and no screeching in their ears all day long. Many thanks to all the leakers here for the invaluable information!

So, CPS claims they're weren't able to do anything for these kids, even though they are visibly overmedicated and being exploited by their guardians for fame and money... until the case is publicized on Dr. Phil and they look like incompetent tards; then they take immediate action to help the kids.

Agree!, I have a feeling that DCFS only now stepped up and removed Jani and Bodhi because of complaints from those who watched the Dr. Phil show.
The kids should have been taken to foster care/shelter for months even years now.

It's not like the Dr. Phil segment revealed any new evidence. They could have found everything if they just put in some effort.

Delusions that persist outside of mood episodes qualify someone for a diagnosis of schizoaffective rather than bipolar, IIRC. There are also lots of other disorders that can include delusions, including some personality disorders, although I don't remember offhand if NPD is one of them.

I've been off the thread for about a day only to find more than 10 unread pages. I knew there was something going on. I checked out what's happening and my expression is pretty much the same as anyone else: just utter happiness. 
Rather late to the party but I hope Jani and Bodhi are happier than ever and that Susan and Cory blow up and get arrested. Honestly, I was surprised that they remained quiet instead of trying to justify themselves when Jani and Bodhi got removed from them, but I'd like to see them eventually speak out nonsense sooner or later.
I also look forward to Wednesday.

I think why they are not saying anything and DELETING FUCKING EVERYTHING is because they are afraid, and they know deep down that the jig is up, and that this goes beyond their attention seeking cravings.
They know there is going to be actual consequences this time around, and they can do nothing about it.
