Containment What will happen when Barb dies?

Probably the same shit she's been doing for years. Watch tv, eat junk and fast food. Go buy useless thrift store bullshit for the hoard. What else is there?
She used to go out clubbing (it's how she met Bob), so maybe she still has something of a social life? People she calls just to talk to, or people (besides the debt collectors) who call her?
I know it's :optimistic::optimistic::optimistic: of me to say that, but I genuinely want her to live her last years in peace- and divorce herself from Chris' lunacy as much as possible. She at least deserves to die with a little dignity.

Barb does nothing but lie in repose communing with the hoard

She's probably got very limited mobility at this point, doubt there's much in the way of family since even her own son doesn't speak to her, and I'm sure she was ostracized from any friends long ago with all the insane Chris shit.

She at least deserves to die with a little dignity.
She really doesn't. She tried to seduce her sister's husband, ruined Chris' life so she had a permanent manchild who would never leave her, and ruined his financial life, and now when she dies he'll be fucked.

Honestly, if she wouldn't just snag the money herself, I'd say Chris should dress her up like a performing monkey and crank a street organ in Charlottesville and have her dance for nickles.
If Barb ever had a shot at dying with dignity, she lost it when Chris put her in front of a camera so he could have her hock bits of the hoard for toy money.
Nah, that was Barb getting in on the gravy train herself.

Part of the beauty of this dumpster fire is that neither of them deserve any ounce of sympathy, that's why they rely on misguided strangers for pity points

Barb is a smothering parent who has been emotionally manipulating and coddling Chris his entire life, and she's never really let him face any challenges or be independent of her in any way. When he was mute for a while as a kid, she bribed him into talking by buying him toys and shit and basically just spoiling him rotten. Every time he was potentially facing consequences for something, like when he got permabanned from the Game Place or charged with a felony for hitting Michael Snyder with their car, she would step in and try to fix it for him, up to and including when she paid his court costs for the Snyder case. He once mentioned that she was apparently jealous of him potentially loving one of his sweethearts more than he loved her. The first time he ever tried to go to MAGFest years ago, she guilt-tripped him out of it by talking about how she was going to pack up and leave the house and how she wanted to die and so on until he gave in, and she's threatened suicide on a few other occasions.

Basically, she's done everything in her power to ensure that he's mentally and emotionally dependent on her, and combined with his unchecked autism, this parenting style has produced the manbaby we all know today.

A few corrections/notes:
  • It's not really about coddling, per se, because that seems to imply she's trying to spoil him. Rather, she's trying to control him and keep him as a retarded manservant for the rest of her life. He can go fuck himself after she dies. (As evidenced by her using his credit cards to pay down her debts, effectively transferring her debt to him, so she leaves a pristine, debt free corpse.)
  • Barb hit Snyder too. She was the one driving the car and she hit Snyder. Then they switched places for some reason and hit him again.
  • That's also the only reason she blew tens of thousands of dollars on Rob Bell for their legal defense; her ass was on the line too. When Chris alone was in trouble, he went with a public defender. (To be fair, they were much more strapped for cash that time, although I still don't think she would've spent the money if it was just him alone.)
  • Bob tried to intervene when Chris was like 22 and still spooning with his mommy on the couch. Barb threatened to kill herself.
  • Barb didn't threaten to leave when Chris was going to magfest. She threatened to kick him out. She threatened to change the locks and leave him to freeze to death in the streets. Magfest is always in January or maybe February, so this was a pretty intimidating threat to Chris.
Damn, really? I knew about the rest, but, wow. No wonder the rest of the family hates her.
Yeah, she was kind of a gross skank. Bob should've double bagged it.

Thanks for the corrections, Marv. I actually left the bit about the spooning out because I felt like I was getting too long-winded, but it's a good indicator of her attitude toward him. Chris did say, though, that Barb threatened to leave over the Magfest thing in one of his gal-pal emails.
Chris dijo:
And he told me of mom saying she was going to pack up and leave the house, then I ran downstairs, finding her on the couch; she was soo miserable and sad; she talked of Wanting to Die, "you don't even have to change my clothes, you can just bury me in what I have on." I was soo sad and crying and soo sorry for the way I misbehaved; we hugged and made up a bit.

Not to A-Log but after hearing this, I hope Barb rots in Hell.
I would not go that far. Most monsters have their origins, and this behavior is not uncommon in parents with disabled children. Barb isn't a psychopath, she's mentally ill. I would not doubt that she suffered severe abuse herself as a child.
