I just read through the highlights, and it's basically saying: "Roger Stone lied about things pertaining to his knowledge of Russian collusion he was asked about".

Given the preponderance of evidence, it's likely he did, but it just means he was foolish enough to lie in court about what he was asked about, AKA committing perjury.

This does not lay a legal glove on Trump at all, all the indictment states is that Stone at one time worked for the Trump campaign and may have leaked damaging information to a member of said campaign (who was NOT Trump) which he later lied about.

Trump is not indicated as knowing of this, having access to this, or attempting to cover it up, based on the reading of the indictment, all it states is Stone was dumb enough to lie before a court about any of his own knowledge regarding the questions aforementioned.

It has been the FBI's SOP for years now to question frequently and in convoluted ways to weave a net where even an honest mistake is 'making false statements' and thus the FBI now has leverage to make you roll over and spread. If the FBI does so much as asks what you had for breakfast you'd better invoke your 5th and get a lawyer before you're a long term guest of a Federal prison.
 
It's just about exactly 2 years to the day that the HuffPo writers unionized in order to demand more money, reject accountability, and force diversity hiring.

Pretty much. I think Popehat had an article basically pointing out how arrogance often leads the powerful to talk to the FBI without a lawyer experienced in their ways, and how it fucks them. It's also worth noting that they won't ask a question they don't already know the answer to; every question is a trap.
 
So basically Stone was arrested because he's a fucking idiot who thought he could talk and bullshit his way out of an investigation that's hellbent on getting anyone for anything. Expect Corsi to get arrested soon, too, since I'm pretty sure he's involved in this as well. None of the charges are actually related to collusion or working for a foreign government or stealing documents or anything like that. Nope, Stone lied during his testimony about talking to Wikileaks (though not a single charge is related to the actual act of talking to Wikileaks, which is interesting to note) and then tried to get someone to change their testimony to confirm his lies. Yet another example showing why you should always just plead the fifth when you go before Congress or talk to the FBI, especially if you know they're out to get you and you have to arrange for other people to cover your ass. Fuck looking bad by not answering questions, I'd rather not go to jail.

I get the whole lying to the FBI thing and their convoluted questions meant to trip you up. What I don't get is why there's a fishy feeling about the situation.

"You may or may not have talked to some people, come and talk to us so we can arrest you later."
 
The FBI has been given far too much power.

Just some things I'd like to point out though:

1. Funny how CNN cameras were there on the scene of the arrest. Did the FBI seriously tip them off on this information? If so ... Wow.

2. I'm sure people with Trump Derangement Syndrome are all like "WE GOT DRUMPF NOW," but no. It's not a gotcha moment with Trump. The FBI literally stated that Roger Stone was arrested for "procedural" reasons. This arrest won't have anything to do with Russia.

I read the document.

It's all about "You said you weren't talking to someone about Wikileaks! You lied!"

It's about as petty bullshit as I've ever seen.
