these are kinda tough to compare. i also agree truth or dare should be on the list, as it is very bad. of the ones i've seen on the list though ready player one was to me the most incompetent, headache-inducing, clusterfuck i saw this year.

I actually stayed away from the bad movies last year.

The only truly bad one I saw in theaters was Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and that one aired more on the "So bad, its good" side. The movie is totally ridiculous.

When the movie reveals the underground black market dinosaur auction, I just about lost my shit with fits of laughter.

I disliked Wrinkle In Time mainly for the cast and how lame it ended up being. Like once you have Oprah in your movie you better forget about even thinking you can be the main star in your own freaking movie. Coupled with the director trying to change the race of the main character and you can see why people were not interested at all.

Last year didnt have that many great movies, and Im already dont think this year is going to be too great since we have the live action Aladdin and live action lion king.

I'm just going by movies that were in theatres and the ones I bothered seeing for better or worse.

If you asked me before Crimes of Grindelwalde came out, I would've said JW: The Fallen Kingdom, especially with that stupid fucking ending but the whole movie's a mess, really - it's got some good shots but even from square one, you knew you were gonna have a bad time.

I was gonna sperg about how terrible that movie is but at this point, it's just redundant. I can still say more positive things about it than Crimes of Grindelwalde, however, which was a mistake from beginning to end with bass-ackwards decisions, fuckin' weird cinematography that didn't fit and several angles/camera motions that weren't used well, character motives and purposes either being thrown around like a nerf football with a big bite taken out of it or just absent. The "Fantastic Beasts" were in even less of this one and I've officially seen more Pop! Vinyls of that chupacabra than seconds the thing was in the movie. The characters people care about were shoved aside for characters exactly zero people knew or wanted to know about. I could go on.

The ONLY compliments I can give that movie is that the music was good and Johnny Depp surprisingly wasn't the worst part of the movie. He still dressed like a time-traveler from the 80's stuck in the 20's but I'll give him that because magic or whatever.

I really hate how you can't vote for more movies in the poll considering the thread title includes "movies" in it. But it's a toss up between Ready Player One, Happytime Murders and The Grinch:

- Ready Player One was an 80s masturbatory piece by its author and having him and the guy who penned Last Action Hero do the film adaptation was even more of a mistake than just simply greenlighting the film. The characters are underdeveloped just so they can go "Chucky was a thing! Freddy Kruger exists! Oh look, King Kong is here! Izzat the Battletoads? Tracer is a character right?" And I swear the main villain's avatar is just human Shrek. The film is the definition of "All style, no substance" and is basically Seltzerberg but without the duo being involved with its ham-handed pop culture references.

- Happytime Murders is just a case study of Brian Henson's hypocrisy in action. More than willing to throw long time performers like Steve Whitmire under the bus, yet feel that making a movie where an Octopus "jerk off" a cow or having a minute long joke of silly string jizz spraying everywhere is a good idea. As someone else already said, it took ten years and this is all they could come up with? The story and idea are absolutely wasted for all the gratuitous sex jokes and Melissa McCarthey doing her shtick.

- The Grinch, I think people know how the last Dr. Suess adaptation by Illumination went, and this is basically a repeat of that film. The animation is the usual Illumination nonsense- surface level pretty, but also overly exaggerated and simple to hide its low production costs and outsourcing. And the Grinch is too rounded when the whole point of his design was that he was a hermit. Even the 2000 movie got that down. And like the Lorax and the 2000 movie, this is just padded out to no end with another "Here's how the Grinch started to hate Christmas!" origin story. On a personal level, I hated having to see that face hawking pistachios every time I worked.

Honorable Mentions: Ant Man and Wasp (seeing it in Movie Night was a slog and given how it was released in the same year as Infinity War and Black Panther, this movie's existence is an anomaly) and Ralph Breaks the Internet (Like I mentioned before with regards to this film, I didn't think it was the worst film of the year, but it is bad. Especially with its Disney shilling and complete disregard for its, admittedly already confusing, rules and lore from the first film)

A Wrinkle in Time is easily the most disjointed movie I've ever seen in terms of, well, everything that makes a movie a movie. I pity the poor editors who had to put this film together because many of the shots were fucking atrocious to look at on top of the plot being so eviscerated that it's nonsensical and completely underwhelms what little majestic beauty there was in some of the surreal scenes. I seriously can't believe this film was acceptable to put into theaters. It's actually fucking hilarious how hard people tried to lick the director's clit over it being the first 100-mil movie directed by a black woman and that the director herself had her head so far up her own ass and thought she filmed a masterpiece. Film students have better comprehension of shot composition than this bitch did with this film.

I didn't see a whole lot of bad movies in 2018, so my choices are:

* A Wrinkle in Time
* The Hurricane Heist (Albeit as a so bad it's good movie.)
* The Happytime Murders
* Beautiful Boy
* Mute

* A Quiet Place (I thought it sucked, don't @ me.)

Did anyone actually see this? (Aside from MovieBob.) How a movie released on 1,400 screens grosses $2 million dollars I'm not quite sure, but this one managed it.
No advertising/get woke, go broke. (I also remember Bella Thorne and the trans one retweeted Bob, so make of that as you will.)

I don't see Crazy Rich Asians on that list, and that's the cinematic equivalent to slitting your wrists. For all the hooraying about representation, all it did was make me hate the Chinese even more.

So instead I'll choose Jurassic Park 5: Jurassic World part 2: Fallen Kingdom because I've never experienced a movie while sober but still can't remember a damn thing about it.
