While I disagree with your interpretation, I will say that people tend to forget the point of the movie is that we the average joes need to do more to actually better ourselves and society and not allow modern conveniences dull us to the point we are a bunch of knuckle-dragging savages. I do find it funny however that a liberal would make references to that movie as it is somewhat well known that Mike Judge tends to have Right-Leaning views from his style of comedy.
