EDIT: seeing that Fire Attack patch and the general lack of outrage from it reminded me of something I said about the opposite side of this kind of autism (the "OMG CENSORSHIP! TREEHOUSE BAD! REEEE!" kind); that they only give a shit about censorship if it's about waifuism.

Did no one post the autistic twitter fight Salem and Leffen had recently? It all started when SonicFox asked which smash character he should play.

Someone said Snake. Salem (one smash player who won a Brawl Apex and smash 4 bayoneta player) joined and said Snake is good too. Then Leffen (infamous melee pro) said Snake sucks.

Yeah, that thing about Salem saying Melee players aren't part of the community has become a little meme in the Smash community now, with people replacing some words and making it a copypasta like their own version of "gorilla warfare."

The guy in the middle is another example of Melee players doing everything they can do to defend the game before Ultimate is even out. What "ShionSinX" is saying here is just explaining pretty much all you really need to know: having a buffer is unquestionably superior than not having a buffer. But the guy in the middle tries to spin it as a negative thing using moon logic about doing an "unrelated response," which is complete nonsense since it'll only do what you pressed, and you can tell this person never played any other game besides Melee because "holding up to do uptilts" does not buffer a jump like he mentions--you only jump using an unbuffered, single up input. This was explained in the thread this was posted in, as the first user mentions.

Expect to see more of this when the game is release. Melee players will do anything to prove their game is still relevant, including just outright lying like the user below is doing.

Melee players still not understanding that there's a reason Melee mechanics haven't been a thing for almost two decades.

Wavedashing has literally no purpose since you can do anything out of dash. You can already dash dance in this game. Wavelanding is the only feasibly noticeable change but it's very negligible, especially since there's next to no landing lag in this game. The "combo demonstration" at the end is almost entirely comprised of combos you can already do in the game as-is.

But I look forward to the next month or so of people hyping this up saying it's the future of Smash before it either gets forgotten immediately, or gets instantly DMCA'd by Nintendo when it gets the slightest bit of traction.

If memory serves me right, hacking the Switch and using any kind of mod or save editing can cause the system to get flagged by Nintendo and get the system banned from online play. I don't know if this mod will be used for LAN or online play but either way, i'm sure Nintendo will catch on to these guys modding their systems and these guys will have to spend another $299 for a new system.

That reminds me, someone was trying to make a mod similar to this for Smash 4 on the Wii U and that was immediately forgotten. Same can be said about this.
