"OH LAWD HE COMIN" along with the word "Chonk" also used in the tweet, comes from a photoshopped cat obesity chart that wasn't even made by a black person. The phrase "Absolute Unit" is a Twitter meme used to refer to things that are abnormally large, the first tweet to use the phrase also wasn't from a black person. So, I don't see the connection to "AAVE" that is supposed to be so offensive and culturally appropriative.

Well, to be fair, AAVE is a dialect descending from an older stage of English, very likely mixed with creole languages. You can compare it to the English spoken by descendants of non-English speaking immigrants, it bears the markers of grammar definitely different from English.

What's sadder is that often it's not faux-outrage - they really are that annoyed over something so minor. So they'd rather not be informed otherwise, because then that sweet dopamine from someone being Wrong on the Internet wouldn't work.

It's also why that, if you do inform them of their mistake, they 99% of the time double down. They'll start reeeeeing about context, or lived experience, or cite themselves as an authority, or whatever they can to prevent them from being the one who is Wrong on the Internet. Because you can't be Wrong if you're outraged, because feels before reals, and if someone is offended then there must be a legitimate offending thing - they have never made a mistake and gone off half-cocked.
