Culture YouTube releases it's YouTube Rewind for 2018

Usually these things are masturbatory self-indulgences for the YT community featuring a lot of e-celebs. They start off with PewDiePie declaring "YEAR REWIND" and then showing some dumb shit for the fans.

This one
  • Starts with Will Smith (who isn't a YouTuber).
  • Has Ninja (who isn't a YouTuber).
  • A Fortnite gag.
  • No PDP because he said the word NIGGER.
  • A bunch of people no one cares about.
  • An entire two minute long scene celebrating diversity, women, and non-whites.
  • Locked chat with the people in the video watching it together and live commenting with the most cringe inducing shit I've ever fucking seen.
Currently it's at about 70% dislikes and sinking. The comments are tearing it to shit. For all the talk of diversity, one commenter from Brasil pointed out that there are no Brazilian YouTubers present. Sorry menino, you faggots don't wear hijabs and don't hate Trump enough. Better luck in 2019.

It honestly baffles me that people above the age of like 13 enjoy watching this kind of stuff. YouTube is so full of shit that just looks like children's entertainment to me, but somehow people in their 20s and 30s watch this fucking shit?
Who enjoys watching that goblin casey neistat flashing his money around going for helicopter rides or whatever inane bullshit it is he does? Living vicariously through the online videos of rich people with personality disorders is a truly base and pathetic existence.

I’m calling it; by Monday we’re going to see a thinkpiece from WaPo or similar about how alt-right Pewdiepie-supporting trolls are viciously attacking Youtube Rewind in an attempt to invalidate this backlash.

I mean, if you really think about it, this is all very troubling. 1.5M dislikes means there’s a 1.5M strong Nazi army just waiting to strike and take us all down.
 
Jesus I know less and less of them each year. I don't get why they can't just make the cast in these diverse, they have to have a whole 'bit' about it. It's annoying when you force a feel good segment, just let people be in the video.

Rewind always reminds me that there is a lot more on youtube than just gaming and commentary/cringe react channels
 
Did I come from a whole different dimention or what, I don't understand anything from what I just watched. This whole fucking video was certainly a type of experience, I felt like I was tripping the whole time from all the shit that I couldn't recognize being thrown at my face.

And then they have an intermission with all that representation bullshit, holy fuck were my expectations low but it still managed to suck ass.
 
Pewdiepie should just repost this exact same video as 'YouTuber Cringe Compilation 2018', that ought to stave off T Series for a few more days.

It doesn't help that YouTube is now cycling through more straight and gay characters like Disney during November sweeps They're like people on Disney's assembly line being groomed and then forced onto unsuspecting masses.

Me neither, but if I had to guess, it's that the content ID system still has some minimal human interaction. The Rewinds are clearly just made by an AI that "invites" its "stars" to take part.
 
I don't know anyone who actually likes Rewind. I'm going to download the video so it doesn't get my view and delete it after 10 seconds of viewing.
Shame that the Zoosadists can't be a part of rewind, they changed our perspective of the furry fandom and exposed a niche side to it.

I also like the idea of a Kiwi Rewind. Highlight the real shenanigans of the year.
If it'll be a collaborative effort, I'll take part!
