Nah, they're flagging black girls too. I don't have the pic now but someone on Twitter was bitching about how they were racist for flagging pictures of her fully clothed brown skin. My guess is the detection system is using a gradient from peach to brown to detect pictures with too much skin for their Wholesome Christian Server.

So the obvious answer is that everyone needs to switch over to monster girl porn.

A long time. It'll happen but it won't be instant. People on tumblr predict like some mass exodus and then the site will shut down really soon. Probably not, it'll probably go the way of other social medias that have done dumbfuck decisions similar to it such as Livejournal. Livejournal was also bought out and they started placing ads everywhere and soon they stopped NSFW content and people started going to Tumblr instead. Same thing will happen here. It won't be a rapid death, it'll be a slow one, as people find alternatives until one sticks and gets big and everyone moves there. Then Tumblr will still be around for a few years as that thing where people go "That's still alive?" Like Blogspot and Livejournal and Myspace.

The other likely thing that'll happen is that they simply revert the change due to massive backlash. Both of these are more likely than a death within this year.

I feel like even if they revert it, the damage is already done since there were multiple blogs and tags that were just all out deleted. You can't just mass delete a bunch of user content and then go 'nah just kidding we won't do that'. No one who was using the site will believe them if they say it. At that point they've pretty much just dug their grave. Even if they revert it, they'll still have to lie in the hole they made for themselves.

Part of running a site like Tumblr is establishing a sense of trust in the community. And they just fucked it hard with a six foot steel beam.

Into the pile it goes, right next to Myspace and Livejournal indeed.

And I genuinely, honestly forgot Blogspot was even a thing.

Lurking around it, all I can say is - good riddance to such a poorly designed and stupidity-infested site.
Too bad this won't bring an end to the SJW problem.
They'll just infest and ruin some other site they spew their BS on, if they haven't, already.
I have a sneaking suspicion that next site will be 4/8/whatever-chan. They have nowhere else to go that I can think of.

Pffft. SJWs despise 4chan with a burning passion. Probably because--in spite of the dumb shit--people there have actually done more good for others than every SJW on tumblr combined. Paying for random strangers' rent, saving that cat named Dusty, raising awareness for rape victim Daisy Coleman, etc. Funny how a bunch of people acting like assholes on purpose and not being apologetic about it have accomplished more than people pretending they're going to change the world.
 
If they're scanning images based on a range of skin tones, just take the porn into Photoshop and make it grayscale. Or you could get creative and make some rainbow coochie, but either way...sounds like it's still pretty easy to beat the system if someone really wanted to.

I don't think the skin tone thing is the only thing they're using to flag posts.

I have seen artists' pencil drawings (which contained 0% NSFW content) get flagged as well as the Statue of David (which Tumblr decided was NSFW and wouldn't be allowed after review even though the Statue of David is explicitly mentioned in the staff post of what would be allowed.)

I would love to see the specifics of the algorithm they're using for this, because I have not seen a bot this incompetent in a long time. Where did they even find something that works this poorly?
