O yea... how can he have a tipgoal if he wants the 16000 OVER his usual? IF someone donates, is it go to his basic pay or the extra? This is soo scammy.... even if people donate like a motherfuker, THEY WILL NEVER KNOW IF THEY HIT IT OR NOT.

Phil would basically have to have a monthly "bills and living expenses" goal before the $16,000 "save the house" goal could have any money put towards it. That would require him to tell everyone how much his monthly expenses actually are and how much he's actually making, which he won't do. There's also the "visit my dying parents" goal that Phil hasn't put a number to and has seemingly forgotten about. You're exactly right in that nobody will ever know if the goal was actually hit or not. This is a scam. I'm sticking with my original theory that this whole thing is to get paypigs to pay for Phil's southern California dream vacation with Kat.

Yup. I remember during last year's tax saga the amount of money he raised was magically enough to make everything alright, and he refused to discuss it in any more depth after that.

He has absolutely NO RELATIONSHIP with his parents... they talk on the phone ONCE A WEEK (I at least text my dad daily).
Yeah it's really strange how little he seems to care about his parents. Maybe he didn't have a good relationship with them? He did seem very resentful in the Wolverine video and it's hard to imagine him having a good relationship with anyone. I mean his parents are getting up there in age legitimately, so it's pretty odd to not want to be around them more in their waining years. Instead he just pulls it out as a pity card for tips on Twitch.

But what can they do for him? He doesn't need their help at the moment. We all know what he's like with interpersonal relationships, we've seen time and time again that he will not only not try and maintain them. He will actively work to ruin them. Look at Howard & John, look at Panda. How long till he starts throwing Kat under the bus for some perceived slight?

John was funnier, Panda made new friends, his parents didn't buy him a toy when he asked (they did get it him eventually didn't they?). If you ain't less than him or doing something for him, he doesn't need or want you.

I'm sure there's a psychological reason for his behavior. It's not normal to be this against friends, family, partners.

Our dear friend and fellow detractor @Comma made this gem below.
I was watching this with no sound and it is so fucking weird without him talking.
He is such a bizarre man. I do the occasional "t pose" when I'm stretching after working for a couple of hours. Don't really just do it for no reason while talking. Also his infamous rocking back and forth. It is so weird that a man that is almost 40 years old hasn't outgrown these idiosyncrasies, but I guess when someone is a recluse they don't have the pressure of society and friends to make them adjust their behavior.

Well, I mean. He COULD control it, he just chooses not to, like the snort and the trash talk and the goat laugh.

Fakesydephil proves that for us time and again.

I mean, that's pretty much the point. Without a concrete finish line, he can string people giving money along as far as he's willing and able to.

Won't he need like 12,000 grand a month between now and April to cover his usual income and make enough to cover the 16 grand for the taxes?

literal 12k goes towards his bills, utilities and paying all his debt(cc,mortgages, etc)
he need 16k in 4-5 months ON TOP of 12k per month
so around 4k extra money per month
just gonna put there, but hes probably not even get 4k in christmas begging money. how is he gonna get 4k extra every month till april.
people arent made of gold

btw the end result for all this begging will be the ability to refinance the house.....like getting another loan to repay AND he will have to pay more taxes if he gets 16k extra

To be fair, $12k is extremely generous in terms of his monthly income... He generally gets anywhere between $6k-$10k per month. But most of the time, even $10k is being generous.

I think he needs about 6-8k a month for bills and cost of living, not including taxes. From the numbers if seen here that should be his normal income from twitch+YT+PayMeTon+few cents tespring. Any sane person should be able to budget this income to life comfortable, make credit payments and save for taxes. But mister financial degree isn't able to do that.

@thebonesauce and @Cpt_Autismo are right. Phil hasn't made $12k in any of the months that I've tracked. Closest he got was, I think, around $11k from Youtube, Patreon, and Twitch combined, when Tut did his $2200 worth of cheering. I averaged Phil's Twitch income from the point where @EddyB43 started tracking tips, and he's averaged around $5800 from Twitch.

If we make our lives easy and assume that Youtube and Patreon stay more or less the same (or, at least, have changes that are negligible to Twitch's amount), Phil will need to get an additional $3200 a month from Twitch or elsewhere for the next 5 months (December, Jan, Feb, March, and April) to meet his claimed needs--meaning an AVERAGE Twitch takehome of $9000.

Now, of course, Phil has, shockingly, not touched on the fact that if he did in fact get that additional $16k, he would have to pay tax on that as well! And given that the relatively smaller amount he got last Christmas (in December and Jan) allegedly raised his taxes $4k, lord only knows what $16k would cause for him. But I'm sure as a finance major, he's prepared already, right?

There is a small problem with what some of you are assuming. Phil almost never tells the truth. Like with last years tax issue it's just a smoke screen. He sort of actually told the truth as well. The only thing he tries to achieve is a restructuring of his debt. And higher income means more options.

His reasoning otherwise just sound to silly to be even considered. "I accidentally earned so much money because of my tax issue, that I am now in a even greater tax issue."
And why is that?
"uh because I payed my tax attorney 5000$ to pay the 5000$ I owed in business tax and I couldn't afford it and now I owe 16 000 in federal taxes. OOPS""
On top of that he gives the explanation that the reason for it is that he earned less then he expected. Because he earn less the federal taxes that are propotionate and just at part of his income somehow become a bigger burden. It's not less income more tax. If he is to be trusted with the numbers he have to have earned something like 64 000 $ which all went up in smoke, and now needs help to pay the tax of that income.

In other words, 64 000 wasn't a good enough anual income, he now needs 80 000 because he couldn't afford taxes. Where would he be if kat didn't contribute with her minimum payed job. It's obvious the poor Burnell residence is just on brink of collapsing. He is so going to lose his house with the cost of sitting on the couch playing videogames all the time.

So slightly off-topic, but Nintendo just released a new set of guidelines that will allow Youtubers to monetize Nintendo games again as long as it is a transformative work: https://www.nintendo.co.jp/networkservice_guideline/en/index.html?n

I only bring this up because it'll be interesting to see Phil try to squirrel his way out of his Nintendo hate boner now that he can make his pennies again on their games. I look forward to him trying to whore out online Smash Bros. Ultimate for all it's worth now.

Well yeah, and he didn't think anybody could see him, just like when his cam was still visible but just barely behind his fan art and you could see him rocking like crazy the entire time.

Anyway, as far as the 16k thing goes. I don't remember why he said he needed it but I assume he needs to pay off the credit cards that he used to pay off his taxes last year so that he can use them again to pay off taxes this year. Funny thing though, if he used credit cards to pay off his taxes last year, why did he need so much fund raising to just use a credit card?

Technically he said he put the $10k his state taxes + tax lawyer cost on CC's last year, and that's why he doesn't have slack on his cards to put his federal taxes on there. And He's been SO BROKE DOOD he couldn't set aside 20% of his income for taxes as it comes in cause he had to pay his CC bills.

His payment theories are weird, he talks about paying everything else THEN paying his taxes with what's left.

Taxes are more important than CC's in every business class I've ever heard of.

Looming house foreclosing & mentally crippling $16k debt due in April; but taking quite a few days off...

Also just thinking of his credit card repayments:

if we say for arguments sake his credit card rate is 15%; if he has maxed out his $10k limit (which I'm sure the bank would extend if he wanted) - I believe he would be paying $1500 a year in interest only?

Not exactly huge. He may also claim these re-payments as tax deductions

And thus the grand finale of the Nintendo arc is near, these writers are genius!

I wonder if he’ll be able to be mature enough and just say this is good news or he’s his usual self and goes on a rant about how it was always a dumb idea and Nintendo are a bunch of thieves.

So what happens when if he gets the 16k? he is still in crippling debt. It's not like that solves his issues.

16k makes it so he can maintain his crippling debt in the Villa del Gout, which is his ultimate trophy which he uses to try and make us jealous of how successful he is.

The begging cycle never ends, this shit has been going on for too long. New problems will arise, he'll play victim and blame every problem on those darn detractors. He'll be begging until he hits the wall. He knows he's got people willing to throw money at him, so he'll do the pity party and people will donate.

What he spends his money on is anyone's guess. We do know he likes to go for the more expensive brands. As people have said before, if he really is in debt he should start budgeting his finances like other people do to avoid repercussions. Cut out things he doesn't need like Netflix and sell items he doesn't use like his blu ray collection. Even downsizing wouldn't be bad.

I've never seen this mentioned- technically he can donate those statues to Goodwill and write off the donation value on his taxes.

He won't because he's not really desperate enough to convert useless statues into a discount on his taxes.

But he could.
