Culture SPLC: "The Alt-Right is Killing People"

After the most recent Shadily Strangler, the organizations SPLC and Right-Wing Watch are writing articles about them. Expect more to come.

Excerpt:
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) counted over 100 people killed or injured by alleged perpetrators influenced by the so-called "alt-right" — a movement that continues to access the mainstream and reach young recruits.

On December 7, 2017, a 21-year-old white male posing as a student entered Aztec High School in rural New Mexico and began firing a handgun, killing two students before taking his own life.

At the time, the news of the shooting went largely ignored, but the online activity of the alleged killer, William Edward Atchison, bore all the hallmarks of the “alt-right”—the now infamous subculture and political movement consisting of vicious trolls, racist activists, and bitter misogynists.

But Atchison wasn’t the first to fit the profile of alt-right killer—that morbid milestone belongs to Elliot Rodger, the 22-year-old who in 2014 killed seven in Isla Vista, California, after uploading a sprawling manifesto filled with hatred of young women and interracial couples (Atchison went by “Elliot Rodger” in one of his many online personas and lauded the “supreme gentleman,” a title Rodger gave himself and has since become a meme on the alt-right).

Including Rodger’s murderous rampage there have been at least 13 alt-right related fatal episodes, leaving 43 dead and more than 60 injured (see list). Nine of the 12 incidents counted here occurred in 2017 alone, making last year the most violent year for the movement.

Expect to see some real salty bois over this.

Probably the only benefit to having a shitty education system. Too stupid to succeed even in being dangerous
Mail bombing was the terrorism of choice for the left until...the 70s, I want to say? The weathermen were the last ones I recall, but anarchists in the early 1900s killed quite a few people that way.

Step 1: Define "alt right" as anyone with an opinion other than mine
Step 2: find someone in this rather large subset who is a murderer
Step 3: anyone that has an opinion other than yours is basically a murderer

Textbook fallacy of composition

Does the SPLC later mention the rather important point that Elliot Rodger himself was Hapa or is the omission because they just want people to assume he was white and therefore he must have been a white supremacist?

Doesn't matter, the left has 'fixed' that bug in the software by inventing "Multiracial white supremacy"

He was a self hating asian though. Like more or less explicitly.

We've done the math and it turns out that people we don't like = bad.

e:Elliot Roger would have been a troon if he lived a year longer.

The unabomber was more anti-government that he was a leftist but he was closer to the left than right and was active until the mid 90's

So despite counting mixed race and apolitical shooters as "white supremacist mass shooters," the alt-right still hasn't killed as many people as radical Muslims despite Muslims being 1% of the population of the US and white people being 56%?
Amazing

White people are like 62% of the US population if you exclude Hispanics, and even that policy is sketchy, because that category can include people who just have spanish last names.

To me, if you're not going to count someone as white based on them being Hispanic, they gotta be brown or at least talk like Cheech.

So a year worth of all right killers is about as deadly as a bad weekend in Chicago.

I always love to bring up the HeyJackass! Chicago crime stat site when someone goes on about how white supremacist/alt-right/literal Nazis!!!!11!!!11111 are such a threat.

As the venerable Big Poppa Pump once stated, "The numbers don't lie."

He wasn't alt-right, but he "fit the profile of an alt-right killer".

You know, like young black males fit the profile of "gangbanger" and "burglar"

It's more like blaming every crime a Muslim commits on "Islamic terrorism". Remember the other day about the Somali Muslim doing the dine and dash at Chipotle? By the SPLC's logic, he was obviously funding terrorism. If that guy decided to kill one of his friends for snitching or whatever, then he'd be an Islamic terrorist.

Chicago crime is only a threat if you're dumb enough to go to the hood (or if you live there for whatever reason, not get the fuck out of the hood).

Wait, Elliot Rodger was alt-right? That can't be true- Mike Cernovich assured me that Rodger was a hardcore feminist.

I think "alt-right" and "incel" have become interchangeable in progressive circles.

We should probably start calling all non-conservatives "Stalinists" to even things up a bit.

What’s the percentage of alt-righters who have killed someone? Because if it’s less than 100 the alt-right hasn’t killed shit.

I saw an infographic the other day on mass shooters and I wish I'd bookmarked it because it highlighted just how cherry-picked the whole "white, alt-right" thing is.

He actually unironically did. His 'manifesto' is full of complaining about white chads banging all the chicks leaving hapas to pick up the pieces.

Rodger's like the clearest case that the "mixed-race white supremacist" thing actually happens sometimes (Should be news to no-one, unless you've never heard of a male feminist/female MRA, Rachel Dolezal or woke twitter). He literally says "OMG, How can this blonde girl choose a disgusting black boy over me; Can't she see I'm half-white?!?", constantly talks about how the white part of his ancestry makes him superior to his full asian room-mates, etc.

He may not have been alt-right or a nationalist, or even cared about racial politics generally, beyond using it to bitch about being incel. But he didn't hide the fact that his belief about whatever white genes he had making him superior to other Asians and non-whites generally was a fixation for him. (The Supreme Gentleman was channeling some weird shit in Hapa psychology, because he was far from the only mixed white/Asian obsessed with that shit. Reddit has whole subs full of Hapas crying about not being full white, or because "it's unfair Tyrone gets laid and poor Hapa me is a virgin!")

And yeah, he wasn't "alt-right", but calling ER "alt-right" isn't nearly as batshit insane as Mike Cernovich (and PJW iirc) calling him a feminist and a liberal.

SPLC labels Christians who have a legit concern with LGBT culture (in their text, and societal norms) as anti-LGBT. If you're that exceptional to label more than just the WBC on there (which the WBC is straight up exceptional as well), then you suck as an anti-hate org.

Same with any right wing conservative that isn't straight up Marxist at this point.
