Murphy Brown is one of those things, like Daria, that just can't be re-started in CURRENT YEAR. It's not going to work, the original character is too far removed from what the former fans became.

The only way anyone under the age of 30 is going to understand any of the humor from the original run is if they put Pop Up Video style annotations over the show ("Who the fuck is Dan Quayle?"). Is it though? I mean, the premise of the original show was a single working mother. Now she's a retiree. At least Roseanne kept the family dynamic when it came back.
