Angry Customer Destroys GameStop Store Over Inability To Return ‘Fallout 76’

That's why i always say, a later copy is always the best you're gonna get.
Also expecting a lot from AAA titles now is a mistake.

Getting stuck with Fallout 76 is like one of those Twilight Zone endings where whatever you’re being punished for isn’t nearly bad enough to merit it.
 
Why didn't he just take the instore credit? I'm guessing he was playing on a console. He could've just picked up a different game, and if not wouldn't he be able to hold onto the credit until a different game he wanted came out?
 
I mean, the Chimpout is gonna cost him more than the game. Todd wins in the long run.

GameStop stores all transactional data on the local workstation which then gets sent off to the corporate offices once the closing key holder ‘closes’ the business. This includes all receipt information. It may have taken some time to investigate because no matter how shitty the product is, it is selling. A common practice in attempt to get some ill-gotten gains is to buy the games off of the friendly neighborhood disgruntled UPS truck driver for cheap, and try to hock them off and Wal-Mart and GameStop, anyone who may offer more cash than what you had paid. GameStop rarely will ever issue a full cash return for an opened product (even if you buy the ‘sleeve’/floor copy), but will gladly get you store credit. I highly doubt this was a known customer of that store because seriously, who other than Chris would do this where he’s easily identified? These dudes will hop across town trying to find that one weaker employee that will break policy. Prime time to do it since this is the beginning of the holiday season, and all of the unskilled seasonal hires are coming on.

Edit: also, you’re unable to ‘trade-in’ unopened games to GameStop.

Plus from my experience working in retail, some of the craziest customers have been the ones who were obviously trying to scam the store like buying a game on a phony card and trying to return it for money or stealing a product and attempting to return it back to the store.
 
If you buy Fallout 76 first you should be slapped, then you should be laughed at, then they should just take the rest of your money because you're too dumb to have money.

It's kind of a given that fallout has always been a glitchy mess. Personally I find glitchout to be fun, for those quirky moments of shooting someone, their body just stretching out, flying into the sky and going absolutely ape shit, following you everywhere you go. I guess he should of just made the best out of the worst of things. I did, which made me like FO3 and NV although NV was hands down the best fallout.
 
TBH GameStop is good for buying cheap used console games and nothing else. Sometimes you can pick up top titles for $3.

Still, buying the game.... Dumb.
