Since YanDev is also a virgin with rage I'm imagining instead of instructing Sonichu to fight Jerkops, Manajerks, and Mary Lee Walsh YanDev will be instructing Ayano to stab his parents (since literally expressed a desire to do this), that evil asshole MikeZ, and Midori Gurin

Remember when everyone and their mom was playing this for the first time and their immediate actions involved seeking out the purple-haired girl (the fuck was her name?) after finding out she liked senpai, killing her (and any witnesses), dumping the corpse(s), and then washing off the blood and mumbling crazy into the microphone as they got lost in RPing as a typical Yandere?

What does joining the light music club have fuck-all to do with keeping the school hoes off your anime husbando?

Remember when this was a simple, fun game about anime girls killing each other with an easy to follow story and no ridiculously edgy flow chart of lore in the background?

I think it's interesting to look at the complete graph of Alex's Patreon:
Ver archivo adjunto 581323

October was the first month in years that Alex never went above 1000 patrons. He first hit 1000 patrons in February of 2016, and since then he's dropped below a few times, but always went back up - until now.

Seeing the full graph makes it clear that the decline this year wasn't just imaginary. It looks like he's stabilizing with more than enough to support his lifestyle, but this has been a bad year for him.

Definitely shows that as a whole, people are gradually getting tired of his bullshit. I bet next year looks even worse for him.

Seeing that the dev only added like one club and a pointless mini game in a span of like a month (or two, since I haven't read this thread in a while), this Patreon decline is really gonna hurt him hard in terms of finance and motivation and at this rate I won't be surprised if he either treats it as his side project or cancels it next year.

I'll give credit to him for actually working on bug fixes and frame rate issues though, but sadly not quite enough to bring back his reputation.

Yandere Simulator's code is fundamentally flawed. His "fixes" are like trying to patch together a sinking ship with duct tape.

He still gets a lot of money from youtube and twitch so it might not be too much of a problem for him?

Then again it's not like he puts that much effort in when he's screwing around most of the time.

is this whole video just "i have autism please be patient" ? it's alex, so of course it is. ALSO THIS MEANS IT TOOK YOU 5 YEARS TO MAKE A FUCKING "V-SLICE"

edit: also all your fears happened because of YOU, alex

edit edit: also V-Slice means nothing like what he said it did.

He’s backtracking so hard, contradicting litterally everything he’s ever said about his plans.

“SEE YOU GUYS I WASNT WASTING TIME AFTER ALL SEE SEE SEE I CAME UP WITH A VOCABULARY WORD YOULL FALL FOR”

I just watched his video. I have to say it seriously annoys me that he spent the entire first like 5 or so minutes of this video explaining something that had no impact on the game. And his excuse that his coding isn't to blame for the framerate was funny to me. There's still all those smaller percentages with the coding that really add up in the end, even if one specific feature of coding doesn't add a lot to the framerate. Plus he just learned that his mirrors and effects were running in the background even when the player wasn't there? Shouldn't that be one of the first things you check before releasing it? I mean I know right now everyone playing this aren't anything more than game testers for him, but dang.

I gotta say though I do really like that character model he showed at the end. It was pretty cute, and I would be very happy with him if he replaced all the character models before the Kickstarter rather than later. I've found the character model he's using now, yes you have to pay for it to use it, but it clearly states that you can only use it for games you plan on releasing for free...and I feel like the Kickstarter would technically go against that? Cause he's still earning money for his game, using those models. I mean the only reason he gets a pass for the patreon is most of it, if not all of it, isn't even being used for the game.

Whatever....I'm glad to see he's at least going in to clean it up as much as someone with no formal training can clean it up. Assuming I can believe him (which I want to believe this. I don't really see a reason for him to lie about it, especially since I'm pretty sure someone is going to figure out a way see the coding and share it if he is lying.)

He has also stated that he'll hire a professional programmer to write future code, I can only hope he's telling the truth here.
Even when he hires a professional, it would probably take months to wade through that mess and refactor it into something one can work with it before any actual progress can be made.
