Just shows how much of a uniform group of city dwelling NPCs they are if they think wildlife just barrells headlong into barbed wire..... I mean, when was the last time you saw any animal, even the one in the pen, impale itself on barbed wire? Most animal/wire entanglements happen on downed/hidden wire for a reason, animals are smart enough to recognize fences as obstacles. That's the whole purpose.

In fact, the reason for barbed wire on a fence (or electric ones) is mostly to dissuade the animal in question from using it as a scratching post and knocking it down that way.

They've obviously never observed or managed actual animals, like wild ones or even domesticated farm ones, yet claim they know oh so much more about what's good for the environment.

There's a movie based on something where a woman was trying to make a living selling barbed wire to cattle ranchers, because standard fences wouldn't stop a stampede... Well, I forget who the antagonists were, but they tried to stop her by showing the damage barbed wire does to meat and even wrapped an animal in it deliberately. Eventually this gets taken to court and to prove animals don't go near barbed wire she caused a stampede in the direction of a barbed fence. The stampede stopped.

The problem is these idiots think farmers enjoy making animals suffer. It's mostly a feeling of apathy, but they still make sure they're healthy and not injured because it's best for business. They're not like South Korea or China - hell, even France - with backwards ideas that suffering makes the meat taste better. They're practically activists by comparison.

The irony is that farmers - honest to God farmers - are the good guys and the corporations these idiots support are the ones actually causing suffering for profit. Morons.

1. Armed forces use concertina wire, not razor. It's made of small pieces of metal that resemble a stubby uppercase T. You get caught in the undersides of the 'T'. The tops are not sharp. Any clothing that gets in the wire is FUCKED. I've never seen animals caught in the wire.

2. C-Wire can fuck someone up pretty bad if they get caught in more than one strand and try to fight out of it. Best case scenario is you stay still and wait for someone to cut you out.

3. Standard emplacement of C-Wire is three strands interlocking. There are ways to actually cross wire obstacles like cutting them with wire cutters. Obviously if a soldier witnessed this they'll shoot, but whatever.

We used to keep it on the trucks and would absolutely dread having to drag it out. It just sticks to everything; as you said, it's meant to keep troops immobile during an attempted nighttime infiltration so stationary platforms (240B or just sentries with M4 sets) can sweep them.
