People demand attention from ye all for their made-up third person pronouns:

The Center for Gender and Sexual Diversity hosted the International Pronouns Day Tabling near the Doudna Steps to educate students about referring to others by their correct pronouns on Wednesday.

Kurt Ness, assistant for the GSD center who was working at the table, said a pronoun is what people use to refer to each other by.

He said the most common examples of pronouns are “he,” “his” and “him,” “she” and “her,” and “they,” “them” and “their.”

Jessica Ward, coordinator for the GSD center, said there are other pronouns that are not as common, such as “ve,” “ver” and “vis” and “xe,” “xem” and “xyr” for example, that people prefer to go by.

Ness said it is necessary to refer to people by their correct pronouns because it is a mark of respect and it makes for good communication.

“Everyone deserves the basic respect of people using correct pronouns,” he said. “It’s awkward if someone addresses someone by pronouns that are not their pronouns. So, it’s just basic human respect.”

Ward said learning someone’s correct pronouns is critical because it confirms and brings awareness to the other person’s identity, a crucial element of what makes people individuals.

“Pronouns are as important as learning someone’s name,” she said. “If I am misgendering or mispronouning you after I’ve been told what your pronoun is, it seems like I’m not learning your name. That’s hurtful.”

Ness said it is OK to ask someone upfront about their pronouns and that people do not have to feel afraid or ashamed to talk about it.

“(Ask people,) ‘What pronouns do you go by?’ Or introduce yourself saying, ‘Hi, my name is so-and-so, and these are my pronouns,’” he said. “For example, when I introduce myself, I’ll be like, ‘Hi, my name is Kurt. My pronouns are he, him and his,’ and that gives the other person the option to disclose their pronouns if they want to or not.”

Another good way to inform others of what pronouns people go by is presenting them on clothing, name badges and even in email signatures, he said.

Ward said people will sometimes refer to themselves by their pronouns in conversations, so people can also learn without directly asking.

Ness said he believes usually people fail to refer to others by their correct pronouns on accident, or they incorrectly assume, so it is essential to learn from mistakes and educate.

“We are raised in a society that is very binary with pronouns,” he said. “We are taught from a very young age to just look at somebody and their physical characteristics to determine what pronouns (they) use.”

Ward said cisgender people, or people who identify with the sex they were born with, are privileged in a sense.

When people assume pronouns of cisgender people, which they do often, many times they are correct in their assumption, Ward said.

“There is a lot of privilege in the cis community as opposed to the trans community. So, what I try to do as a trans advocate is I try to introduce myself and my pronouns. My GSD nametag has my pronouns on it,” she said. “These are my pronouns. I’m putting them out there, so it’s OK whatever your pronouns (use).”
Well, using the "singular they" instead, would erase their gender identities and therefore deny them the right to exist, so it's basically the same as murder.

Hmm... "international"? I wonder what gender-neutral languages or those with "grammatical gender" are supposed to do?
"He/she/it/e/ou/a/yo/singular they" are all just "dia" in Indonesian, "ta" in Chinese and hän (only for people, things/"it" is "se") in Finnish.
E.g. in French, Icelandic, German and Russian though, every noun gets an arbitrary gender (female tables and chairs, male Moon and cats, genderless girls etc.) and shows not only in pronouns but articles, adjectives, titles, numbers etc. so making up new forms isn't easy or even possible.

Incredible narcissism.

Well yeah, I get that. The thing I don't get (or maybe don't WANT to get) is what the words are supposed to mean. All words must describe an actual thing or concept. Even if that concept is an abstract like "freedom". So I understand that people who view Gender as an abstract would also come up with abstract terms. The problem is however that I don't understand how they are defining any of this. It seems to me the definitions are entirely arbitrary and subject to random change or interpretation. That is not how language works, and is especially dangerous if you try and give it legal status, where definitions are excruciatingly important.

Who even comes up with these dumb "international whatever day" things and what makes them so "international" anyway?
There’s a fascinating episode of the NPR economics podcast on this. I can dig it up if you’re actually interested.

P.S.- Happy Pronouns Day, my pronouns are he and him.

It seems to me the definitions are entirely arbitrary and subject to random change or interpretation.

Being educated is hard if there's such a thing as objective fact. Then you have to, you know, learn stuff to be an expert. But if there are no facts but instead only competing narratives fighting for dominance, then there's no reason not to make up your own "facts" (and to become an expert in that way) or to intimidate, manipulate, lie, and deceive in order to "win." If there is only winning or losing, how you become dominate doesn't matter.

I'm probably just stating the obvious here, but these terms are arbitrary by design, and the arbitrariness ensures SocJus acolytes will always retain the moral high ground. As the "educated" source of woke knowledge (that nobody else will have because it's made up on the spot), they will always be in the position to dominate and talk down to "the ignorant."

Even if these nuts were using standard pronouns, there would be no way to know which pronoun each person preferred before meeting them. Add in 9,999+ "new" genders, and everyone is doomed to an automatic failure state if they make rational, time-saving assumptions about people. And since "social justice" types have already redefined offense-taking as totally unrelated to offense-giving (intent), they're primed to wield the social power of "you offended me with your ignorance, and I'm going to educate you" 100% of the time. A permanent moral high ground for them, and a permanent defensive position for their enemies.

Or you could be one of these sad cuckolds who tries to do the impossible and never make any "unfair" assumptions about anyone you meet. For aforementioned reasons this is impossible because of the ever-shifting terrain of language. You'll be righteously beaten anyway for thinking you were anything better than the other sinners, but at least you'll (hopefully!) ingratiate yourself by licking their hands after the beating.

Not gonna lie, I feel pretty bad for all the people suffering from legit gender dysphoria who have to put up with these douchebags.

I can't imagine what's going on in these people's lives that they can navel gaze so hard as to decide not that all men and women vary in their masculine/feminine traits and being more one than the other does not mean they are unique or supposed to be the opposite sex - but that they are in fact some new magical gender that no one else has because they're that special and now the entire world needs to be educated in protecting their fee-fees and validating their newfound unicorngender.

The only way to respond to someone telling you their pronouns are "ve" "vis" and "ver" is to give them a fucking wedgie.

I'm not short, I'm just differently tall! My height can only be measured in butterfly kisses, and if you ever dare to ask for it in normie inches or centimeters you are a bigot and deseve to die!

Meanwhile I'm laughing my ass off because ten days ago, in Argentina, a teacher was fired because he tried to bullshit kids with those fake ass pronouns on a sex ed class.

I don't know how is so difficult for them:
-If they're more men than women use "todos" , "alumnos" ,...
-If they're more women than men use "todas" , "alumnas",...
-If you don't want to use neither, use "alumnado" or whatever the congregation people is(funny enought, alumnado is part of the inclusive language).

When I was a little kid I was warned that if I obsessed too much over made up fantasy shit like star wars or mtg or whatever then other kids would eventually think I'm weird and my social life would suffer for it as I grew up.

All this manufactured importance placed on pronouns is the same thing. If you start talking to a new acquaintance about some gender identity they've never even heard of, they just flag you as a nerdy weirdo they have nothing in common with and then... they'll go date someone who matches their interests better. You can't claim cis people have a privilege in dating just because most of us aren't interested in your weird political cause.

And it's even worse because any other weird nerdy isolating thing is just that, but with gender you're asking cis people to deny their own identity to make yours feel better for you. If I see a woman I think is cute and want to ask her out, and then I find out "actually I'm a panqueer multisystem who prefers to go by thy and theyr"... even if your self-important bullshit wasn't enough to make me back off, am I now suddenly supposed to erode my own identity? I'm supposed to question whether I can be "straight" like I always thought because now I'm dating a queer whatever? Your precious identity is beyond question but mine isn't? Fuck you, no one wants to deal with that. Especially when your prime reason for trying to win this contest is to earn auto-win cards for any arguments you have in Trump's Amerikkka.

I don't have a "privilege" dating, I just respect the reality that I have to be enculturated with my society well enough to cast a wide net when I'm trying to find a partner. I don't get to make up a larping language and then get mad at women who won't slobber my dick for it. Get over yourself.
