Also, even though my hands damn well suck, even I can see what Dobby's doing wrong with them.
 
There's an odd paradox I've noticed over the last few days or so: Dobby's work actually got worse after abandoning the animu style. Sure, his CattyN inflation fetish artwork and Alex ze Pirate still look like shit, but were I forced to choose, I'd take Alex over So You're a Care Bear Who Forgot the Meaning of Happiness any day.

The more I look at them, I think the part that makes his art worse (made even worse with his colors) is that he doesn't do any line variation. It's like he took a thick sharpie pen to ink and doesn't bother with tapering.

That's because after college he stopped putting in a lot of effort into his drawings. It coincides with the change in art style because after the incident with the anime club (I would really like to hear the story from someone who was there) he decided not to have anymore anime influences in his drawings.

That's absolutely baffling and akin to crippling oneself. To completely ignore and reject one aspect of a medium, be it drawing or otherwise, will get you nowhere and will only hinder you. Hell, at this point, I think it's safe to say that he doesn't even look at other people's artwork or how they do things, even in a casual manner, simply because he doesn't want to be influenced by anything that isn't his, ever.

No wonder he's so fucking creatively bankrupt, his worldview is closed-minded to the point of it inbreeding inwards on itself indefinitely to create pile of shit upon pile of shit by only taking influences from his own piles of shit.

Shitty stuff, no?

First off, i hate anime. I ran an anime club for 3 years at my college and I learned to despise it quite a bit. There's a few interesting shows I like, but most have been ruined by poor dubs, edits and a general dumbing down of the shows for american audiances. I can not like something and yet still have an appreciation for it though

Jesus christ, what kind of feckless killjoy is this guy!? MST3king a movie....ANY MOVIE with a bunch of friends is one of life's finer pleasures. And this guy gets pissy about it!?
