I think everyone on both sides is just sick of the arguing and back-and-forth. It's kinda gotten to the point where it's less about the original issues and more about making the other side look bad. Seems pretty draining overall.

Now that I've seen the rest of the interview, I definitely feel that LWu is using the momentum of GG to bring attention to her own cause, and what she wants doesn't even oppose what GG wants. LWu is upset that news outlets haven't talked about the harassment, gamers following GG are upset that news outlets are shitting on them.

I believe - correct me if I'm wrong - that she started off as critical of GG. That is not a crime, but it pissed off people, and (this can't be said without victim-blaming) she got stung because she kicked the hornet's nest that is the internet. Now she's using her booboo to gather attention to herself and the women who were "harassed out of the industry."

Regarding LWu's satire account, btw: joke or not, she added to the shit that painted the movement as misogynistic.

So she complained about things online and in the industry. Fair play, things can be shitty in both cases. She gets attacked for it. Expected considering that's how the internet rolls. So she continues her crusade with new vindication and attacks continue. It's a cycle perpetrated by both sides.

As for Antia Whatshername, that's on gamers (well the select few this applies to). She had as series of videos that could have been ignored. Instead people got overly sensitive that it didn't kiss gamings ass and pointed out obvious flaws in gaming storytelling. Like mature adults they chose to harass her. She took the publicity and ran with it thus spreading her opinion. Good on her for seizing an opportunity that keeps on giving.

Personally, I think they should salt the article and anything to do with gamergate. It's obvious some of the higher ups over there have an axe to grind.

The thing that bugs me about the college shooting threat was it had nothing to do with GG, she claimed it did, and then GG went out and found the guy responsible and he had nothing to do with GG. The only reason she is involved in GG is because she got a death threat over twitter. It said nothing about GG. So we kind of reach the point where she's involved in this shit because she wanted to be. Anita has been getting death threats since her Kickstarter exploded yet she gets one via twitter that only seemed to hate on the fact she was a feminist and suddenly she's involved in all this because...? Why? In a situation like this opportunists really don't need to wait for an opening. They can dive right in and it won't even matter how they entered the controversy, just that they keep reminding everyone they're still there.
 
It's amazing how rational and even-handed her response to their shitflinging about her not being a real feminist is. Christina Sommers is so far above the gawker/full mcintosh crowd in terms of class and professionalism that's it not even funny.
 
Just watched the interview, how was Pakman doing a hit piece? I don't get it.

He seemed nothing but professional and of course he should be questioning her credibility, that is for the purpose of establishing the grounds for why she should be believed. He wasn't hostile about it.

Wu seems to be one of the types of Anti-GGs who has taken a "with us or against us" view that brands all neutral parties as "aiding the Pro-GG side by way of inaction".
