Sonichu [Fan Comic] Rosechu's Story - A reimagining of the Sonichu story from Rosechu's perspective.

The idea of Patti being a soul eating demon has to be my all time favorite fan-interpretation of a Sonichu character. Well, it was until you decided to turn Sonichu into a terrifying ball of adorableness, damn you Trickie !

So, still working on the next page, but I might not get it done by tonight and if that doesn’t happen, well… here’s a small preview just in case.

Anyways, onto the newer stuff. I really like how the current page turned out, it took a lot of time but it was worth it! Really love the extra details in the background, especially the light over Rosechu, and holy cow your version of Sonichu is just as lovable as ever, the way he enters the scene is just so charming that I want to reach out and hug him so badly!

It'll be interesting to see how you handle where this goes, although I sort of agree with Cotton Pudding in that given how things are going between them it might be short a few fireworks, but eh, you never know. Either way I bet you're gonna do an awesome fuckin' job.

On a side note, sorry if any of this post turned out incomprehensible at all, I'm currently fighting a cold and I haven't been in the best frame of mind lately thanks to how crummy I feel.

Yeah, Sonichu the character has grown on me quite a bit. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I had something very different in mind for him in the beginning. He changed a lot as the story was fleshed out. I kind of wish I had some plushies of the characters now. That'd be fun.

I just started reading this today and I got to say I really like this a lot.

Well, it does seem to be what Chris thinks of her at times. I don't know if IRL Patti was aggressive or anything, but it still strikes me as odd that he'd imagine her eating souls.

Maybe it could be that she has to feed off of souls, but feels incredibly guilty doing it. I'm thinking something like an Inugami/Kitsune-esque spirit. Patti could be presented with a moral dilemma where she and another character are wounded and dying. She can survive only if she feeds off of the other dying character, who willingly volunteers to sacrifice him/herself, accepting that it is her nature, and doesn't fault her for it. Patti reluctantly feeds off of the character and thanks him/her, saying she won't let his/her sacrifice in vain. Perhaps to make the scene even more tragic, the character who sacrifices their life mentions that they will at least be with another deceased character he/she was close to...damn I write depressing story ideas...

Naturally, she won't feed on the trolls as she doesn't see evil in their hearts, only fear, and secretly spirits them away and fakes their deaths. Solid is none the wiser. Typically, she'll feed off of things like Wild Bunnelbies, Ratattas, Zigzagoons, really small animals or Pokémon that come in large numbers. She only feeds off of the bare minimum needed to stay alive.

Honestly what I find amazing is that someone can turn such a seedy/disturbing (not trying to a log guys sorry if it seems that way) into something where you can actually feel for those characters and they have much more depth to their personalty's! really want to see what happens next.

I don't believe what I'm looking at. I'm actually starting to find the relationship between Sonichu and Rosechu to be romantic. And here I was thinking that it was impossible. But I love the dynamic you've given them. And I love how well you've managed to define their personalities. Just...wow.

If only Chris did some development of their character and relationship instead of just pairing off his characters somewhat randomly and thinking, "There, that's perfect, they have just met and now they are the perfect couple, who will never fight and will love each other 5ever. Oh boy, love at first sight never gets boring"

Also your art is amazing as always, I think you nailed the shoujo-vision effect myself, considering how difficult it must have been.

Anyway, loving this as always. Sonichu and Rosechu are just so much more incredibly dynamic in your interpretations. And although I know Rosechu is the core of this story, it always strikes me how refreshing Sonichu is in this. He actually FEELS energetic and youthful, as opposed to Chris', where Sonichu came off more as a 90s Saturday Morning cartoon of the "cool kid" character, reheated for the fiftieth time. Kudos to that.

I am also interested as to Rosechu will react to this in later pages. In this interpretation, Rosechu was originally a dude Raichu, so it's curious if Sonichu's actions will actually have true romantic undertones, or if Rosechu is just going to play along and get caught up in Kel's plot.

This was way back in the beginning of May, too, so I'm not surprised. I'm actually more surprised that you're the first person to be confused by it, actually. I probably should've made it clearer.

( Just in case the page isn't enough explanation, the Zapbud sort of symbolizes Rosechu's lost abilities right now. )

Well, I don't think I've actually "done" anything yet, at least as far as getting seriously into their relationship. Right now I see it as more like we're cresting over the top of the first hill on a rollercoaster.

Thank you very much! I really do like how Sonichu's turning out personality-wise, but I feel like I could do a little better with Rosechu's characterization sometimes. She kind of seems like she's defined a little too much by her problems, but hopefully we'll be fixing that up soon.
