I've had this thought for a while, and it's probably not as absurd more that it's subversive and would create a lot of salt: Have a word for word play of Spike Lee's X, but Malcolm X is played by Sam Hyde, all Black characters (especially NOI) are white guys, and the white characters are either black or other minorities.

How about we open the play like Taming of the Shrew? The framing device could be about this boy trying to put on a play for his drama club and failing miserably. He makes the play about 9/11 but he thinks that 9/11 was actually a story about an exceptional elephant and his struggles in life at the zoo. Everyone is appalled at the absurdity of it all and the club president starts up the real play to show the boy how a play should be made.
