Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

The idea was basically to spread it around social media pretending it was a white power symbol just to see how many people they could make believe it and now it's impossible to tell the trolls from the real believers anymore.

The logic used by the people defending Black is that actual white supremacists heard of it, may have used it unironically and therefore it is now actually a white supremacist symbol. It's the "I licked this now it's mine" of memes.

NeverTrumper Morning Joe is now sucking Obama’s dick and praising him for a mediocre performance on the economy during his eight years.

Also, Joe Walsh continues to pretend to be a NeverTrumper.

"Prudish Moral Conservatism"

"The Democrats have always represented these values"

Lolwat? They've spent the last century eroding the prevailing morality (agree with it or don't, it was the prevailing morality) and replacing it with virtue signaling, and driving people who speak publicly of morality out of the public square. They're only "conservative" when it's something they like being questioned, such as slavery, segregation, or de facto misogyny; that they frame their preferences in terms of "morals" is just verbal sleight-of-hand.
When I say the Dems stand for Moral Conservatism I mean that they stand for it in their bog standard "Rules for Thee Not for Me" way.
The idea that they would hold themselves to those standards is a bad joke of course but as the last 21 months have shown if they think they can attack a Republican with those standards they will go right for it.
But as others in this thread have observed they did such a good job of dismantling that particular soapbox over the last half century that those standards have been rendered so toothless that neither side can get any meaningful use out of them anymore.

Just for the record the Republican in the Ohio Special Election got over 50% of the vote anyway so all the spleen venting over those damn Green voters is even more pointless than it already was.
But while we're on this subject this election provides some good insights into the fate of the "Blue Wave". That being the Dems almost winning but in the end falling short. Oh and more Muh Russia.

Do you think the media will hype this as the blue wave falling short, or will this story be dropped after being reported on one time? Going in they said (as they always do) "This election is a referendum on Trump". Welp I guess Ohio hasnt soured on Trump yet, liberal media.

I think it is also somewhat tastelessly amusing that they make the Mexican man having a sombrero, poncho, and Pancho Villa mustache just to emphasize his foreignness compared to all the other figures in the crowd. And only the Mexican gets the stereotype treatment. There's no hijab-girl or Basketball-American in the crowd, just different colored figures in samey generic clothes.

You know how I posted a page or two back about "Heads I Win tails You Lose"?
Well "Heads I Win Tails You Lose" perfectly describes how the media has been covering/hyping up the "Blue Wave".
Lets say the Democrat wins like in that Pennsylvania election. Well obviously thats proof that the "Blue Wave" is coming because the Dems won that one.
But lets say the Republican wins like in this latest election or that one in Georgia last year, #LaughingMyOssoff,. Well yeah the GOP won but look at how close it was! And in such a Red district too! "Blue Wave" incoming!
Short of an absolute landslide for the GOP the media was always going to have a way to spin this...Actually even if it was a landslide it would have been brushed off as a "Solidly Red District anyway" and "Oh the Dems weren't actually taking it seriously".
Irritating yes but it also makes watching their spirits being crushed on Election Day all the more satisfying.
